Robert Conrad and Anthony Eisley previously co-starred in the 1959-63 crime and adventure series Hawaiian Eye (1959).

Goofs
The talking machine that Pike finds in the music store is a device of the type that Thomas Edison finally devised in 1888; as such, its appearance here is some ten years too early. Edison's machine was hand cranked, recorded on tinfoil cylinders and were barely audible on playback. It did not have any type of sound amplification, so recordings were made by shouting loudly into the horn. The voice on the playback is in a normal speaking tone, making this a factual error as well.

Stronger Story & Plot Make Better Episode

This episode, while it doesn't have Ross Martin, has a more powerful script than many of the other shows without Martin. The guest cast is top notch here too. Jack Carter and Jackie De Shannon head some powerful support. Jeremy Pike works with Jim this episode, one of several he did and this actor filed the role better than most of the other subs.

West goes back to the academy to visit his old instructor for help in solving this case. The plot involves a song left behind by a dead agent about clues to a secret service defector. It involves money from the mint too. Using the school as a back drop makes the story stronger. The song is called Two Faced Stranger in the Garden.

Watching Jeremy Pike & the instructor at the academy trying to sort out the songs clue along with several good fight sequences makes this one of the better efforts of the season. Pike does an Artie type disguise pretty well in the show too.
