- TriviaThe title is based upon the comic strip Little Orphan Annie, created by Harold Gray and first published on 5 August 1924. The character was adapted for radio, television, stage plays, and movies.
- GoofsIt is odd that there is no mention of Exidor's wife Ambrosia, as couples have usually had advantages over single people in adoption lists, which would have worked in the characters' favor here.

Mork: Oh, no, it's from the Department of Immigration and Naturalization. "Dear sir..." That's nice. "With concern to your visit April 19 last year, "we require more information on your alien status. "Please contact our office immediately to prevent termination of U.S. residency. Love, Jimmy."

Featured review
"Little Orphan Morkie" begins with Mork receiving a letter from the Immigration Department, where Judge Baker (Charles Lane) acknowledges that he cannot grant naturalization without further evidence. Having no passport or birth certificate, only marriage to a US citizen can save Mork from deportation. A better option turns out to be adoption, but Mork refuses Mindy for a new mother so as not to break the old one's heart. Mr. Bickley (Tom Poston) passes, so it's up to a well dressed Exidor (Robert Donner) to save the day: "I'd do anything for this waif!" Miss Kalinowski (Priscilla Morrill) conducts the interview with Exidor, who gives a stirring speech on why he wishes to adopt an adult man for a son: "if we could bag what I just said over there, we could double the corn crop in Kansas!" Yes folks, who would have believed that Exidor would eventually become Mork's father!
