Featured review
I saw this hour long special when it was first shown on Australia Day, 1991. I was too young to watch Aunty Jack when it was on during the 1970s, so this was my first introduction to the motorbike riding, boxing-glove clad 'lady'. I absolutely loved it - absurd and very funny comic sketches (the learn-to-speak-Italian lesson, Colonel Passionfruit's dance brigade) are interwoven with hilarious and clever musical interludes, which were my favourites parts (Hermann the brave, The perils of Pearl Pureheart and Tarzan: the rock opera). At last Aunty Jack is available on DVD - I recommend it to anyone interested in classic Australian comedy or simply a good giggle.
