In the movie there is a controversial scene in which Guiga witnesses his brother Zeca in a sexual interaction with Helena, the house maid, as he's sucking her breast, being masturbated and receiving oral sex from her. The scene is explicit and shows Tânia Tôko, who played Helena, stroking the boy's penis for real. In 2008 Tôko talked about that scene: "I already showed my breast and had sex with a 13 year old boy in the film "Eu Me Lembro'. It was good to have done it, at the time it was controversial. I like that".
