An unscripted dating show based on author Candace Bushnell’s “Sex and the City” book is in development at Bunim/Murray Productions, Variety has confirmed.
Titled “Is There Still Sex in The City,” the program will follow four friends in their fifties as they navigate the immersive dating experience in a “love do-over” where they trade in their busy city lives for a “dating utopia.” “They’ll live together in a cozy country chateau where they’ll have their pick of a different group of men in each episode. They’ll try the boy toys, sample a senior age player, be romanced by the rich guys and even get to flirt with their fantasy man. But in the end, who will really steal their hearts, and will our ladies be able to bring the sex back to the city?” reads the logline.

Fans know and love Sex and the City as one of the most iconic shows to ever air on TV. The HBO dramedy aired from 1998 to 2004. The New York City-based series followed best friends Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon), Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall), and Charlotte York (Kristin Davis). The four women navigated their careers and their personal relationships.
The series was based on Candace Bushnell’s iconic ’90s column, which she turned into a book. However, she was paid very little for her rights to the book.

Bushnell’s book Sex and the City was actually made up in the columns that she wrote from 1994 to 1996. In the New York Observer column, she wrote about her own personal dating life.

Ian is described as a “brilliant” doctor “with endless charm that masks a hidden streak of narcissism.”
While he is idolized by his young patients, Ian has a “complex relationship with his own daughter.”
News of the new addition comes just weeks after it was revealed that Miles Fowler was scrubbing out of the series as Billie's son, Trevor.

Brooke Shields is trying her hand at a holiday-themed rom-com on Netflix, and we could not be more excited.
The TV veteran will co-star on A Castle for Christmas on the streamer, opposite Cary Elwes, and if the first trailer is any indication, the movie will be a lot of fun.
The Netflix original movie follows an American author, Sophie (Shields), who makes her way to Scotland, and immediately falls in love with a castle.
Unfortunately, the owner, a Scottish Duke named Myles (Elwes), does not want to sell to a foreigner. The duo butt heads as they try to come to some sort of resolution, but they "just may find more than they bargained for."
The movie was filmed on-location in Scotland, and you can see the awe-inspiring visuals peppered throughout the trailer.

Netflix will have another Christmas rom-com on deck during the holidays.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, Brooke Shields and Cary Elwes will be spreading some holiday cheer from Scotland.
The duo will lead A Castle for Christmas, which follows an American author, Sophie (Shields), who makes her way to Scotland, and immediately falls in love with a castle.
Yes, really.

The duo butt heads as they try to come to some sort of resolution, but they "just may find more than they bargained for."
The outlet reports Mary Lambert, who brought Pet Sematary and The In Crowd to viewers, will direct the holiday flick.
More exciting is that the movie will be filmed on location in Scotland. As a Scotsman myself, I'm excited to see which locations are used, and how the country is portrayed.

Doppelgänger TV shows happen all the time. Series with similar set-ups, themes, or plotlines go head-to-head and, sometimes, only one survives — like in 2006, when two shows about the making of a fictional “SNL” squared off, and “30 Rock” trounced “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.” Other dueling dualities both thrive, like “ER” and “Chicago Hope,” and still more bomb equally, like “Cashmere Mafia” and “Lipstick Jungle” in 2008, or “Do Over” and “That Was Then” in 2002.
Being first to air isn’t always the deciding factor, but when you’re the second somber period drama to revolve around a dead baby — airing amid a global pandemic, no less — then you’re starting in a pretty deep hole. And “The Alienist: Angel of Darkness” just keeps digging, building most of its eight-episode mystery around murdered, kidnapped, or otherwise tormented children. Such a grisly predilection should sound familiar to anyone who caught HBO’s recent “Perry Mason” reboot,...

In 2009, CBS Television Studios made a bet on an up-and-coming TV writer, Jennie Snyder Urman, who had staffed on a couple of shows. The Emmys’ guest actor and actress category names may have evolved over the years, but ever since the Academy first honored seasoned actor and director Patrick McGoohan for a stint on NBC’s “Columbo” they have had a reputation for celebrating well-known talent.
Some of this is also due to repetition. NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” has been a mainstay in the guest acting comedy categories the past decade. Since 2009, the late-night sketch show has won half the trophies awarded in those categories — nine of 18 — with victors ranging from Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon to Tina Fey and Betty White. Last year, hosts Dave Chappelle and Melissa McCarthy won their respective categories, and a total of five of the 12 nominees were from the show.
Since “SNL” guest hosts use the show’s platform to promote their own work, it’s inevitable that they might also be eligible for other Emmy categories.
