The first cut of Swamp Zombies was 3 hours in length. Editor J.R. Hubbard worked with director Kabasinski to cut unnecessary scenes and trim several others to get it down to a two-hour runtime.
During the Jack v.s. Zombies fight sequence by the broken down car, Jack throws actor Jimmy Crissman through the passenger side car window. During the takes, it took over seven attempts to break the safety glass. the take used in the final version of the film is the only take in which the glass broke
Producer Lisa McQuiston appears three times in three different roles (zombie, nurse, and as a "bikini girl" during the ending credits). co-director Stephen Kabasinski appears in a brief cameo as the "thugs victim"
The fight scene between Jack (Leon South) and Hitman #1 (Todd Humes) took over 5 hours to film. Leon is afraid of heights and the fight took place on the roof of a five-story building
The date on the hospital bracelet that the hermit (Brian Heffron) reads aloud is the Co-director's (Stephen Kabasinski) birth date (July 12th).
