Family Film

I saw this at Cannes, and again stateside, and the film played well for both audiences. It is a true story, which really made the audience respond. I thought the best actress by far was the mother, she was superb. The piece was well directed, and was paced really well for a 1/2 piece (which isn't the norm on shorts). The film was set in the late 60's, before I was born, which gave me pause because of the racial overtones in the film(I didn't realize things like that were going on so late into he 60's) The music in the film is also really good, and the moments in which the daughter plays the clarinet are great! See it if you can.
