It’s the best day ever for One Direction fans! After teasing the video for their latest single, ‘Best Song Ever,’ for an entire week, the band finally released the video on July 22!

The boys of 1D do a great job at getting fans excited for their videos, as they often tease the premieres with clips of behind-the-scenes footage to keep the anticipation high. They did it for their “Kiss You” video, and they did it again for the “Best Song Ever” video!

Robot Chicken has had some fun with the DC Universe ever since the series premiered on the Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim. As a result, a DC-centric special was inevitable and it aired back in the winter. Now out on DVD from Warner Home Video, the Robot Chicken DC Comics Special is a fast-paced laugh riot for comic book fans.
The Rc crew, headed by cocreators Seth Green and Brecken Mayer are on hand, aided, abetted, and egged on by DC’s Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns. Interestingly, Zeb Wells, who normally writes for Marvel, never for DC, is ion hand to direct the special. On the surface, they cleverly make this appealing to mainstream viewers by basing the look, feel, and sound to mimic the Super Friends animated series, using sound effects from other animated projects. But once the special gets underway, you glimpse tons of characters only comic readers would know,...

Hold me closer, tiny Dundie: The Office‘s series finale is now just one day away (airing Thursday at 9/8c on NBC). But thankfully, my personal Dunder Mifflin-themed kudos-fest is just getting underway, with two more fun-filled posts to go.
Video | The Office Series Finale — Honoring Dunder Mifflin With the Best Dundies Ever
Today’s award-ing walk down memory lane features a Jim and Dwight showdown, the return of Agent Michael Scarn, a Kelly Kapoor faux pas and more disdain of Toby Flenderson (who I’m still convinced is the Scanton Strangler). Has your favorite Office gem earned a nod yet?...

With great power, comes...a great many problems.
Independent movie studios may not have the budget for the kind of showy special effects that the major studios pour into their superhero movies, but they often make up for it by telling the kinds of stories that the majors avoid. Because of the need to appeal to a wide range of potential moviegoers and to appease die-hard comic book fans, the majors primarily concentrate on offering up stories involving relatively unconflicted, altruistic superheroes using their incredible abilities to do incredible deeds. Indie studios, on the other hand, are freer to deconstruct the genre, offering up heroes with more flaws and quirks. Hit the link below to find out about two indie superhero movies now streaming on Netflix that explore the absurd, scary and mundane aspects of superheroes and superpowers.

It's a pretty slow week for DVD and Blu-ray releases, which is somewhat surprising given that Black Friday is just a few days away and the holiday shopping season is about to get underway. The only major new release hitting store shelves today is The Expendables 2, which could make a perfect gift for the action movie addict in your life. Aside from that, however, new releases are essentially limited to the indie superhero comedy Alter Egos, Famke Janssen's Bringing Up Bobby starring Milla Jovovich, and Bruce McDonald's strange pseudo-sequel Hard Core Logo 2, which fortunately comes packaged with the original Hard Core Logo on Blu-ray. Catalog titles hitting Blu-ray for the first time include a newly restored version of Michael Cimino's infamous Heaven's Gate, Isao Takahata's anime classic Grave of the Fireflies, and the Tarantino Xx box set. Will you be buying or renting anything this week?...

If Clark Kent is dating Lois Lane, and Lois sleeps with Superman… is it cheating?
That's the kind of question that's on the mind of secret superhero Brendan in "Alter Egos," the Kevin Smith and Phase 4 Films-produced superhero comedy currently in limited theatrical release and hitting VOD today (November 20).
Brendan has a secret: by day he's an ordinary civilian, but by night he's Fridge, a superhero who can shoot ice out of his hands. When his girlfriend Emily sleeps with Fridge, Brendan has a meltdown, despite the fact that he and Fridge are the same person — a fact that hasn't gone over Emily's head.
Check out the "Alter Egos" confrontation in the exclusive Nsfw red-band clip above.

This week: Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Chuck Norris and more aging action heroes are back to blow things up in the explosive "The Expendables 2."
Also new this week is a collection of Quentin Tarantino movies handpicked by the filmmaker himself, the Blu-ray debut of 1975's "Zorro" starring Alain Delon and a Criterion Collection edition of the formerly maligned/recently praised 1980 Western "Heaven's Gate."

Box Office: $85 million
Rotten Tomatoes: 66% Fresh
Storyline: Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) and the rest of the Expendables (Jason Statham, Jet Li, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Liam Hemsworth and Dolph Lundgren) are sent by Mr. Church (Bruce Willis) to Albania to retrieve an item from a downed plane only to lose one of their own in an ambush by an opposing group of mercenaries led by Jean Vilain (Jean-Claude Van Damme). One thing that has become clear as Ricky, Edgar, Justine and myself work through the 396 page Fantasia program book (seriously this thing is massive) is that to pick your list of films to watch at Fantasia, you need a system.
As it happens, I have been going to Fantasia since the festival started in 1996 and over the years I have gotten pretty good at figuring out what I want to watch and how to build a schedule quickly. I have been known to go to Fantasia on the day that they start selling tickets, buy the program and figure out the 30 films that I was going to buy tickets for… while standing in line.
Now if you are only going to Fantasia to watch the animated films or to watch the martial arts films or to watch the horror films, than my system won’t help you and in fact...

Why do singers come out with alter egos? First Garth Brooks, now Beyoncé. What is the point of it? —Kayla, Atlanta It's a safe way for a performer to explore an unexpected style of music without permanently alienating hardcore fans. Country star Garth Brooks grew a soul patch and declared himself Chris Gaines so that he could splash around in the rock-and-roll pool for a while, but Beyoncé's "more aggressive" Sasha Fierce barely tiptoes outside the R&B comfort zone, leaving little for teenyboppers to cower over. - Armed with caffeinated drinks and toothpicks (for closing eyelids) IONCINEMA’s Australian correspondent Samuel Hilton will be covering this very cool fest from the land down under……take it away Sam! The 52nd Sydney Film Festival was kicked off in style on Friday 10th June in the heart of Sydney city at State Theatre with the opening film, My Summer of Love. While it’s a shame that there wasn’t an Australian film of enough quality to open the festival, the British flick drew a large audience in for the beginnings of a highly promising festival. My Summer of Love’s lead actors Nathalie Press and Emily Blunt were both in attendance to open the film festival (while none of my pictures of them came out - here's one from the festival's site) This year the line-up, which includes independent films from Australia, Britain and the U.
