The start of the movie is a bit unclear, but the war situation that follows is clear enough. The fact that everybody acts according to his or her own personal agenda gives an interesting story: trust no one, not even the ones you can trust. Shows the absurdity of the press shooting pictures of soldiers shooting people.

I absolutely LOVED this film. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. The story and direction are excellent. Michael Lerner is a true talent! It is very interesting to learn about what happened in Beirut at this time, and also what it is like for reporters who dive into the action.
The story is fascinating and very apropos to recent world events in the Middle East. The acting(especially Anne Parillaud) and editing(the fabulous Suzanne Neff) superb. The locations are fantastic. It is very hard to believe that this wasn't shot in war torn Beirut.
The cast too were very believable-wonderful character actors from all over the world.
I highly recommend seeing this film.
