I viewed this series as a child in the mid '70s and was enthralled. I have always wanted to see it again but it has never been released as far as I know because it is in Monochrome, (Black and White). Recently I was featured in another A.B.C. Production, "Collectors" and thus jumped at the opportunity of asking someone to go "down into the vault" and "dust off" a copy of "Alpha Scorpio" or "Andra". They could not locate "Andra", but a copy of the first episode of "Alpha Scorpio" was retrieved. It was not exactly as I remember it, but it was good enough, the two students going on holiday in a small seaside town, one, a Geology student, taking along a seismograph and eventually noticed that it recorded a tremor 3 minutes and 54 seconds earlier each day, the same time the lighthouse flashed. Detectives in Fedora hats loitering around the lighthouse and bright lighting in the local pub were a bit corny and "stuck out like sore thumbs", but the air of mystery and intrigue was almost as good as I remember when I was a child. I definitely wanted to see the second episode again. If it is ever to be released in full, and the A.B.C. operate a chain of retail outlets, "die-hards" of my generation would certainly purchase it.
