Tom Sizemore, an actor perhaps best known for the role of Mike Horvath in "Saving Private Ryan," has passed away at 61. He is survived by his two children.
The news comes following Sizemore being rushed by paramedics to a hospital in Los Angeles and placed in the intensive care unit in critical condition after he suffered and collapsed from a sudden brain aneurysm at home around 2 a.m. on Saturday, February 18.
A veteran of the screen, Sizemore had been acting since 1989 and has remained incredibly prolific ever since. While his career began with anonymous roles ranging from "2nd Mugger" to "Vet #1," Sizemore quickly became a distinctive character actor with key roles in much-beloved films. He is best known for supporting roles in films such as "Born on the Fourth of July," "True Romance," "Natural Born Killers," "Heat," "Saving Private Ryan," and "Black Hawk Down." Private Lesson is a Rom-Com movie directed by Kivanç Baruönü, starring Bensu Soral and Halit Özgür San.
Premise
Posing as a private tutor, Azra secretly coaches students on achieving their goals in life and love – but not without a bumps on the road.
Movie Review
A quirky and formulaic Rom-Com that is as plastic as can be. The impeccable scenography, sterile photography, beautiful cast, and a screenplay that will not risk too much, and yet manages to amuse, are the ingredients in this, a more lighthearted film.
If you are seeking a really edgy romantic comedy, this is not it. ‘Private Lesson’ is nice and quotidian in all its artificial perfection.
With a good cast that successfully walks the tightrope between super insipid yet convincing acting, in a set that is staged to portray the delightful lives of its characters, we are told this slightly entertaining tale. It is contemporary,...

In the late 1970s, Alfred Matthew Yankovic, known by his moniker Weird Al, emerged onto the music scene as a master of song parodies on radio’s “Dr. Demento Show” — and his legacy continues to reverberate worldwide. With such massive hits as “Eat It,” a riff on Michael Jackson’s “Beat It,” and “My Bologna,” a nod to the Knack’s “My Sharona,” Yankovic has earned five Grammy Awards and sold more than 12 million albums. Fresh off his latest 133-date tour, the musician’s life is now the subject of Eric Appel’s biopic, “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story,” which stars Daniel Radcliffe in the eponymous lead role and bows Nov. 4 on The Roku Channel.
What’s it like to watch your life turned into a biopic?
It’s a lot of fun. I’m very excited for people to see it. I will say that the biopic takes a few creative liberties.

Private Practice fans were shocked by the abrupt conclusion of the Grey's Anatomy spinoff in 2013.
Series creator Shonda Rhimes revealed on Good Morning America that she would be interested in returning the show to the air.
In a word? Whoa.
The series hit the air in 2007, with Kate Walsh's Addison Montgomery moving to a new location, complete with a wealth of new cast members.
The original cast included Tim Daly, Audra McDonald, Paul Adelstein, KaDee Strickland, Chris Lowell, Taye Diggs, and Amy Brenneman.
The show had strong ratings throughout its earlier seasons, but the numbers fell slightly at the end.
Taking a decade off has worked wonders for some shows, and given that Walsh currently appears in Grey's Anatomy in the role again, maybe ABC is preparing some sort of reboot.

Don’t get too excited, Addison Montgomery fans, but Shonda Rhimes misses the Oceanside Wellness Group as much as you do.
While promoting her new Bridgerton book this week, the uber-producer told Good Morning America that she wouldn’t mind revisiting Private Practice. She was asked by the hosts to name one of her popular shows from ABC that she’d love to bring back.
“I miss my Scandal family so badly that I would come back with them at any point, but I actually feel like we didn’t finish telling our stories on Private Practice,” Rhimes said. “We had so many more stories we could tell … I just felt like we had so much more to say with those characters and so much further to go, and that also felt like a show that had endless possibility where you are learning and seeing things happen at the same things happen medically.

San Francisco, Oct 25 (Ians) To combat the sending of unsolicited nudes online — known as cyber flashing — and make the internet safer place for everyone, the popular women-first dating app Bumble is open-sourcing its AI tool — Private Detector.
The new tool works by automatically blurring a potential nude image shared within a chat on Bumble. Users will be notified, and it is up to them to decide whether to view or block the image.
“Bumble’s Data Science team has written a white paper explaining the technology of Private Detector and has made an open-source version of it available on GitHub,” the company said in a blogpost.
“It is our hope that the feature will be adopted by the wider tech community as we work in tandem to make the internet a safer place,” it added.

Altitude has picked up international sales and UK and Irish distribution rights to Mad About the Boy — The Noël Coward Story, a feature documentary about the life of Noël Coward from Barnaby Thompson (St. Trinian’s).
The doc is billed as an exploration of Coward’s expansive career which features credits across the stage and screen, including Brief Encounter, Blithe Spirit, and Private Lives.
Adam Lambert will sing the film’s theme song, an updated cover of Coward’s 1930’s single Mad About The Boy, which will be released on 7 October. The song was produced by Amanda Ghost and Johnny Coffer.
“Noël Coward was a fascinating character. He invented the modern Englishman – witty, sophisticated, and stylish – but was born poor and left school when he was 9,” Thompson said. “He was a sex symbol who was queer in a very straight world and he was exiled from the country he came to define.

The first half-hour of “Private Desert,” Brazil’s most recent Oscar entry, painstakingly sketches the troubled life of Daniel (Antonio Saboia), a cop who assaulted a rookie during a training session. We see Daniel running at night, and on the soundtrack we hear narration from him that turns out to be texts he is sending to a mystery woman named Sara, who lives far away in the north of Brazil. “I think I’m in love,” Daniel writes her. “Wet kisses.”
Falling in love with someone you have never met in person is foolish, of course, but Daniel is believably portrayed by Saboia as equal parts naïve, sweet, cruel and volatile; he teases his very ill father in a way that stops just short of being gloatingly mean. Writer-director Aly Muritiba patiently views Daniel in long takes as he sends nudes to Sara, and the style here is simple, no frills,...

Kate Walsh is set to recur in the upcoming 19th season of “Grey’s Anatomy,” returning as Dr. Addison Montgomery, the character she’s played since the Season 1 finale of the medical drama in 2005. Walsh’s Addison was also the central character on “Private Practice” — the first “Grey’s” spinoff — which ran for six seasons on ABC, from 2007 to 2013.
Walsh appeared on “Grey’s” last season in a multi-episode arc, in which Addison returned to Grey Sloan Memorial in order to perform a uterine transplant on a patient, who later miscarried. During her Season 18 appearances, Addison grieved the death of her ex-husband Derek (Patrick Dempsey) with his sister Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) and his widow Meredith (Ellen Pompeo).
In an interview last year, Walsh was enthusiastic about returning to “Grey’s” to play Addison for the first time since “Private Practice” had ended, saying “I was very satisfied and delighted by it.

A favorite at Venice Film Festival last year and Brazil’s official submission to the 94th Academy Awards, Aly Muritiba’s queer romance Private Desert is now readying a U.S. release courtesy of Kino Lorber in late August. The story follows a police officer placed on leave who searches for his online love, a genderfluid blue-collar worker who lives as her male birth identity by day, when she disappears. Ahead of the release, a new U.S. trailer has now arrived.
Jared Mobarak said in his review, “Writer-director Aly Muritiba said something very interesting about his new film Private Desert in the lead-up to its Venice debut. He spoke about a desire for its success to not simply be of the “preaching to the choir” variety. Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation, the opening salvo in the Aew wrestling week. Once again we’ve got Excalibur, Caprice Coleman and Mark Henry on commentary and I’m digging the switch-ups we’ve had on the commentary team in recent weeks… Let’s see what the show has to offer!
Match #1: Angelico and Private Party (Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy) def. Ar Fox, Liam Gray and Adrian Alanis
My Thoughts: There was nothing remarkable about this match as Private Party continue to coast along and not live up to the hype of their signing back at the beginning of Aew. In fact, Private Party on Being the Elite is Better than Private Party in the ring! So in the end we get an average score for an average match.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Marina Shafir and Nyla Rose def. Angelica Risk...

One of the few good things on the margins of the long-standing Israeli-Palestinian conflict is that there is at least some cultural exchange between the sides, so dissonant tones critical to the official policies can be heard, at least coming from the Israeli side. One of those voices certainly belongs to filmmaker and screenwriter Eran Kolirin whose film “The Band’s Visit” (2007) dared to ask a crucial question how it is for good people at a wrong place, such was the case of the visiting Egyptian band in Israel.
Kolirin’s newest film “Let It Be Morning” is a proper Israeli-Palestinian collaboration, based on the novel by the Palestinian journalist-writer Sayed Kashua, known for the source material of the films “Private” (2004) and “A Borrowed Identity” (2014), and on the topic of the Israeli Arabs and their need to re-assess the identities they have built in the times of distress. It turns out, Peacock is switching everything up when it comes to Love Island.

With a new home, a new filming location, and even a new narrator, many questioned whether Arielle Vandenberg would return as host.

Peacock revealed Thursday that Modern Family star Sarah Hyland will be hosting the new season.
It is a bit of a shocker when you consider how well Vandenberg was received, but it does seem like Peacock wants to effectively make a new show.

Hyland is best known for her starring role as Haley Dunphy on Golden Globe and 5-consecutive Emmy-award winning hit ABC comedy series Modern Family.

The Sydney Morning Herald has denied a wave of criticism alleging that the Australian publication pressured Rebel Wilson into outing herself as LGBTQ by giving her a two-day deadline to comment on her current relationship, which she had not yet discussed publicly.
On Sunday morning, Wilson seemed to corroborate that the Herald’s contact with her was not appropriate, responding to a post on Twitter that stated that the Herald “admitted to giving her a heads up 2 days in advance that they were going to ‘out’ her.”
“Thanks for your comments, it was a very hard situation but trying to handle it with grace,” Wilson wrote.

The comedy community and “Ghostbusters” fans everywhere are remembering Ivan Reitman, who died Saturday at 75. Actors and filmmakers, including several people who worked closely with Reitman, paid tribute to the Canadian director and producer who directed the megahit “Ghostbusters” and helped ignite the movie careers of comedians including Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd.
Reitman also directed “Meatballs” and “Stripes,” and produced films including “National Lampoon’s Animal House,” “Space Jam,” “Up in the Air” and last year’s “Ghostbusters: Afterlife.”
Tom Rothman, chairman and CEO of Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group, said in a statement, “Tonight, the lady with the torch weeps, as do all of us at Columbia, and film lovers around the world. Ivan Reitman was an inseparable part of this studio’s legacy, but more than that he was a friend. A great talent and an even finer man; he will be dearly missed. Iconic Palestinian actor-director Mohammad Bakri has canceled his visit to Egypt’s El Gouna Film Festival over the issue of U.K.-based Palestinian filmmaker Said Zagha being deported from the country without being allowed to enter.
Bakri, whose acting credits include “Homeland,” “The Stranger” “Wajib” and “The Bureau,” was due to be honored with a career achievement award at the festival on Wednesday.
However, on Tuesday, Bakri released a statement in Arabic saying he has canceled his visit in protest against the deportation of Zagha and other Palestinians who arrived at Cairo airport and were barred from entering Egyptian territory.
“I have decided not to go to the El Gouna Film Festival,” Bakri said in his statement. “Essentially, this was a reaction, in principle, to the mistreatment of Palestinian artists, regardless of their passport, whether it’s Jordanian, Palestinian, Israeli, or whatever.

Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound and Snagglepuss once ruled as crown princes of Saturday-morning TV. Now they are simply hoping to hold court among a legion of young streamers who watch video at any time they choose.
The cartoon characters are stand-outs from the Hanna-Barbera animation studio, which in the last half of last century accounted for the bulk of animated programing shown each Saturday morning on ABC, NBC and CBS. Creations ranged from the memorable to the decidedly less so. On Thursday, dozens of Hanna-Barbera characters are being set loose anew in “Jellystone!,” a new HBO Max series that seeks to revive several generations of animated favorites for an audience that may not know them all that well.
“This was definitely the biggest challenge I have had,” says C.H. Greenblatt, creator and executive producer of the new series, in an interview. “We were basically making ‘The Simpsons,’ season five, right out of the gate,...

Season 2 of Hulu’s comedy-drama series “Love, Victor” was recently released, giving fans another look into Victor’s life as he comes out as gay to his Catholic parents, further explores his queerness in a new relationship and possibly falls for another boy — all while navigating high school. And underscoring the show’s moving plot lines is a collection of original songs — most of which are from queer artists — that brilliantly soundtrack each heart-fluttering hand hold, emotional confession and rousing climax throughout the season.
Inspired by and set in the same world as the beloved movie “Love, Simon,” “Love, Victor” follows Michael Cimino as Victor, a half Puerto Rican, half Colombian American teen who is piecing together his identity as he juggles family, friendships and romantic interests.
George Sear stars as Victor’s main love interest, Benji, alongside Rachel Hilson, Anthony Turpel, Bebe Wood, Mason Gooding, Isabella Ferreira, Ana Ortiz and James Martinez.

In HBO's The Undoing, based on the book You Should Have Known, Grace and Jonathan send their son Henry to the very prestigious Reardon School in New York. Right off the bat in the first episode of the miniseries, without even catching a glimpse of the school, you know it's fancy, because Grace and Jonathan are discussing an upcoming fundraiser that sounds like it's perfectly designed for Manhattan's elite. So is Reardon a real school in New York City? Technically no, it's not, but it could easily be an amalgam of all the private schools the city has to offer.
The private school, which is called Rearden Academy in the book, comes with a hefty price tag. Grace mentions in episode one of the series that Henry's tuition is $50,000 a year, which is on par with New York prices. The Private School Review reported that for the 2020-2021 school year,...

Coming soon from our friends at cult film specialists Mondo Macabro is the wonderfully bizarre erotic odyssey Private Vices, Public Virtues from Hungarian director Miklós Jancsó. The film comes from a time when exploring eroticism onscreen in all of its strangeness and diversity was seen as an act of welcome rebellion. Filmmakers like Walerian Borowczyk, Tinto Brass, Pier Paolo Pasolini, and especially Serbian provocateur Dušan Makavejev were all about creating space for the increasingly visible sexual libertines of the post '60s world. This film appears to take all of those influences and gather them into a giant stew of perversion, extolling the virtues of liberation. Also, lots and lots of nudity from all and sundry, so if you're a fan of male genitals on screen...
