The view of New York City's IRT line from the front of a subway car having proved popular, Blackton and Smith shot this..... and found themselves in trouble, as the lighting levels varied from bright sunlight to pitch darkness, the half-timbered track supports and spurts of steam rendered the venue hellish, and the back-and-forth motion of the camera as it weaved on the anything-but-straight track induced nausea in the audience.
Apparently they figured the thing to do was to sell the film to Edison, who bought it and released it.
