Amrish Puri's character's look was inspired by 2 character's in the movie Mad Max 2 - Road Warrior. The character's of "Wez" and " Golden Youth". The same mohawk look was adapted by professional wrestler Joe Laurinaitis for his character of "Animal" in the tag team of The Road Warriors (Legion of Doom).
In an interview to the "Mumbai Mirror", Karan Kapoor mentioned how during the shooting of this film, Shatrughan Sinha would arrive four hours late and then manage to memorize his lines very quickly.

Karan Kapoor learned Hindi and dubbed his dialogues all within 9 days. Raj Sippy felt the main reason Karan did not make it was because he was not serious about a career in India. After Loha's success, he did not care to meet any producers and ask for work. He wanted to be a photographer.
10 years later Dharmendra did another film by same name Loha 1997.
