The nickname Micione of the character played by Rodolfo LaganàF was already used in the movies Amarsi un po'... (1984) by the character played by Fabrizio Bracconeri and Amici Ahrarara (2001) by the character played by Gianni Ferreri.

First movie role for Enrico Montesano eight years after Anche i commercialisti hanno un'anima (1994). His next movie work was then Il lupo (2007), five years later. In the meantime he mostly worked for TV productions.

The surname of the notary cheated by Pomata (Enrico Montesano) is Magalini, the same of the pharmacist whom he used to sell his grandmother's medicines in the first movie Febbre da cavallo (1976). Also in the movie Al bar dello sport (1983) there is a notary Magalini, played by Eolo Capritti.

Claudia Gerini was initially considered for a role, but she had to decline due to other filmings she was doing at the same time.

Carlo and Enrico Vanzina initially intended to focus this movie solely on the character of Mandrake, therefore they didn't reprise the roles of Pomata and Felice Roversi (originally played by Enrico Montesano and Francesco De Rosa), replacing them with the new roles of Micione (Rodolfo Laganà) and the Engineer (Andrea Ascolese). At the end it was decided to re-include the character of Pomata in the second part of the movie, played again by Enrico Montesano.
