Featured review
This concert from the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris in 2002,is a feast showing pieces from Jacques Offenbach's best loved and popular Operettas. This DVD is very enchanting,Anne Sofie Von Otter is the queen of the show, she is great, beautiful, charismatic, hilarious, delightful, naughty, dazzling and very entertaining. She is joined by Naouri, Leger, Ragon, d'Oustrac, Grapperon,They were all very good. Marc Minkowski was the conductor whose presence added to the greatness of this nice atmosphere. The show included pieces from La Grande-Duchesse de Gerolstein, Madame l'Archiduc, La Belle Helene, Barbe-Bleue, Lischen et Fritzchen, La Vie Parisienne, La Fille du tambour-major and La Perichole, as well as the famous Barcarolle from the opera Les Contes d'Hoffmann. In my opinion it is a must have DVD for Jacques Offenbach's fans.
