The name of the gay bar (in the movie) where much of the movie takes place is "The Elephants Graveyard" (sic)(sign posted outside the entrance). In real life, "The Elephants Graveyard" (sic) is the popular nickname of an actual London gay bar, real name "The Quebec."

The "Really Hard Red Bull Test" was based on the "3 Coke Can Test." Coca-Cola and other soft drink makers wouldn't allow the filmmakers to use their products, but eventually, Red Bull gave them the thumbs-up.

Stephen Fry was originally slated to appear, but he had to back out due to a scheduling conflict.

All of the Iron Lady's lines are dubbed. The director wanted her to seem more menacing, so Karen Sharman rerecorded her lines, lowering her voice by three octaves.

Gareth Myles was considered for the part of Bryon.
