Srividya is a mother less child who belongs to a rich family with a strict father . She falls in love with a simple poor man . Her father comes to know and thrashes her publicly . She elopes with her lover who turns out to be a cheat. He takes all her jewellery and starts selling her . Unhappy but unsure of going back , she gives in . One of her patrons is a rich kind man who has lost his own wife in a car accident . Filled with guilt he plans to get married for his daughter's sake . After a lot of emotional rides and many women later ,he zeroes in on Srividya as he likes her. They get married but his daughter Nitya does not like her step mother . He later dies in an accident and Nitya blames Srividya for his death . She becomes a mental recluse and needs a lot of medications to keep her calm. Step mother and daughter keep squabbling with each other daily . She tries her best to win her daughter over .
Rich and now lonely , Srividya meets Ravindran when he is running away from goons in a train and enters her compartment . Pitying his state , She takes him home and he starts working for her. He is intrigued by her daughter Nitya . Ravindran himself was a wrestler and was chased life long by women who are drawn to his innocent nature and good figure .Pramila makes a small appearence as his boss's wife who equally lusts for him. When his boss finds out , he has only one option - to run .
Nitya and Ravindran grow close much to Srividya's displeasure. She tries to stop them but fails over and over again .
Srividya's first lover and husband returns back now as he has heard that she is very rich . He wants a stake in her money . Ravindran comes to her rescue . A lot of fights and twists takes place . Srividya is shot in the final scene while Nitya and Ravindran unite. A fine movie shot in lush green locales. Srividya is good eye candy whether she wears pristine white or colourful chiffons as a rich man's wife . Ravindran indeed looks soft and vulnerable for his role . Nitya as the innocent step daughter who misunderstands her mother invokes a lot of sympathy . A fine movie for the entire family over all.
