No need to pinch yourselves, Marvel fans, because "Daredevil: Born Again" really is happening and we have the first official footage to prove it. After a series of fits and starts, including a very public retooling with a fresh creative approach, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige finally figured out the right way to approach a grand reunion featuring several of the cast of characters established throughout Marvel's Netflix shows. Although technically not under the umbrella of the Marvel Cinematic Universe at the time -- each series could vaguely reference events that happened in the movies, but the movies themselves would sooner have laid the groundwork for a DC crossover before ever even suggesting that a devil in Hell's Kitchen was running around with Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and the rest of the so-called Defenders -- that didn't stop the studio from finally bringing them under the MCU roof in recent years.

At yesterday's "Marvel Comics: Spider-Man and his Venomous Friends" panel at New York Comic Con, Senior Editor Jordan D. White, current Venom scribe Al Ewing, and New York Times best-selling author Charles Soule revealed the future of symbiote storytelling.

All-New Venom was highlighted, as were plans for a future Spider-Verse vs. Venomverse crossover event. However, the biggest news is that a second symbiote ongoing series will spin out of Venom War: Eddie Brock: Carnage.

Launching in February, the comic will be written by Soule, known for his acclaimed run on Star Wars and illustrated by Jesus Saiz, following his work on recent titles like Captain America and Punisher. Set in the aftermath of Venom War, the startling saga sees longtime Venom host Eddie Brock operating as the new host of the violent and sadistic Carnage symbiote.

Jon Bernthal ducked out of "The Walking Dead" at the right time (the end of season 2). He stayed on long enough to prove his talent without winding up tied down to the show. Of the series' original main cast, Bernthal has also had easily the most prolific film and television career since.

Receiving overwhelmingly positive reviews, Bernthal and Netflix made a deal that he would be getting his own spin-off series titled The Punisher.

After two weeks in theaters, the third installment of the Deadpool trilogy has set multiple milestones. Deadpool & Wolverine, the final film in the Fox era X-Men franchise, has become the highest-grossing film in the trilogy, dethroning both of its previous installments.

The Deadpool fim series began in 2016 following a multi-year campaign by Ryan Reynolds attempting to make a more comic-accurate version of the character following the disastrous portrayal in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine. At the time, it became the highest-grossing film in the X-Men franchise, just beating out 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past.

The series continued with 2018’s Deadpool 2, which, surprisingly enough, beat the first film at the box office by a small margin. However, a PG-13 re-edit of the film Once Upon a Deadpool was released later that year, adding to the box office total.

David Ayer has been a celebrated filmmaker who wrote the Oscar-winning film Training Day. The filmmaker has made some amazing films including End of Watch, Fury, and most recently directed the Jason Statham starrer The Beekeeper. Since the release of the film, Ayer has talked about how studio interference resulted in an inferior cut of the film and he has been campaigning for his cut of Suicide Squad to see the light of day. He has talked highly of the film he has made and continues to push for the film’s release someday. On the 8th anniversary of the film’s release, he posted some shots from his cut of the film that confirm the fate of one key character.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is, to an extent, integrating the stories and characters of the Netflix era Marvel shows. The shows Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Punisher and The Defenders were all made in a partnership between Marvel Television and Netflix before Disney decided to create their own competing streaming platform.

Originally believed to have been wiped from continuity due to possible legal issues surrounding the shows’ ownership, it has been confirmed that both Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and Jon Bernthal’s Punisher will be returning.

The cast of Daredevil: Born Again was at GalaxyCon this weekend, and with no mention of Marvel Studios' upcoming Disney+ TV shows at Comic-Con, they clearly weren't needed in San Diego.

A new album from Christian Lee Hutson is on the way. On Tuesday, the indie folk musician released the single “After Hours” and announced his album Paradise Pop. 10, which includes collaborations with Phoebe Bridgers, Katy Kirby, and Maya Hawke.

Exclusive: 20th has landed the rights to a feature adaptation of the New York Times bestselling novel California Bear from Duane Swierczynski. Gary Lennon will write the feature alongiside Swierczynski with Ryan Coogler’s Proximity Media producing, sources tell Deadline.

Swierczynski’s latest novel is a thriller that follows four unlikely vigilantes whose decision to take justice into their own hands pits them against the villain behind California’s coldest murder case.

California Bear is 20th’s first project with Proximity. Rashonda Joplin, 20th’s Director of Production, and Catherine Hughes, Creative Executive, will be shepherding the project. 20th’s Head of Literary Affairs, Clare Reeth was instrumental in bringing the book into the studio.
