Edward Norton was approached to play Bruce Banner, but he turned it down; he didn't like the script despite being a Hulk fan. He later accepted the role in The Incredible Hulk (2008).
Nick Nolte grew his hair wildly for this movie when he was arrested for drunk driving and photographed for his now-infamous mug shot.
According to the ILM animators, the Hulk's stats are as follows:
- He weighs 3,452 pounds (1,565.8 kilograms).
- He can exert 14 tons of pressure per square inch.
- His skin is ten times as strong as Kevlar.
- His chest measures 17 feet and four inches (5.3 meters).
- His waist is 12 feet and ten inches (3.3 meters).
- His feet are four feet and three inches (1.3 meters); if he wore shoes, they would be (U.S.) size 87.
- His neck measures six feet and nine inches (2 meters).
- He can move at a top speed of 300 miles (483 kilometers) per hour and cross three to four miles (4.8 to 6.4 kilometers) in a single jump.
Lou Ferrigno: (at around 12 mins) As a security guard. Ferrigno is best known for playing The Hulk in The Incredible Hulk (1977) and a few succeeding projects.
Stan Lee: (at around 12 mins) The creator of the Hulk (1962) appeared as a security guard. Lee ad-libbed his lines.
