This is a small film, as if I couldn't guess by its $6 price-tag at BestBuy. I bought it for my nephews, ages 12 and 10, and they liked it enough to watch it without interruption. The story is essentially about 3 foster brothers who lose one brother to an agency because the foster dad has lost his job and income. The oldest brother, Donny, must then find a way to earn money to get the lost brother (Sam) back home. A Razor scooter contest is the answer, but a bully threatens to throw a wrench into Donny's plans. There is also a cute 'crush' subplot; a girl named Erin is in love with Donny, and she is yet another obstacle (tho a good one!) in Donny's path. The film's music score is solid and upbeat, the adult actors are mostly professional, and the kid actors aren't bad. The story is borderline formulaic, but effective formula -- lots of tension and suspense, especially with the scooter contest at the film's end. Kind of like ROCKY on scooters, with all the 'heart.' I didn't plan on watching it the whole way thru with my nephews, but couldn't help myself. Overall -- a very watchable 'little' film. And a bargain at $6!
