Initially Jagathy Sreekumar was considered for the role played by Mammootty, but Mohanlal suggested the latter. Mammootty appears as an actor with his same name, a fictional character. Jagathy Sreekumar played another role instead.
Film was remade in Hindi as Teesra Kaun.
One of the soundtracks of the film around time stamp 53:50 sounds exactly like the intro music of Hollywood film "Lord of The Tings: The Fellowship Of The Ring (2001)"!.
