Often called the Demon Weed or the Devil's Candy . . .

. . . tobacco is the main staple of the Canadian diet, as illustrated by THE THREE BLIND MICE. On average, Canadians are half a foot shorter than their American counterparts, since tobacco really does stunt growth. Because the sun does not like to shine very much upon Canada, Canadians would grope through life as blindly as the three mice, were it not for the flaming brightness of their frequent spontaneous combusting. Why are these dangerous Northern Neighbors so prone to self-immolation? This picture suggests that the average Quebec Qua, Man It Turban, New Burning Wicker, Albert Tan, Prince Eddie Eyelet, Northwest Tear-the-Story or Novel Squash is about 100% Proof. That fact explains a lot.
