- TriviaWas the sister show of SM:TV Live (1998), sharing most of the same production team, the same presenters until early 2002 and the same studio until late 2003 (and even then, SM:TV used CD:UKs studio for music acts), they were practically the same programme, though after 1999 this became less obvious on-screen. It was only after SM:TV Live ended in December 2003 that the two shows finally became seperate, and CD:UK started being produced in 16:9 widescreen (SM:TV had never been made this way despite most shows on British TV were made this way).

Featured review
Once part of the greatest TV show on morning TV, CD:UK had fresh faced and cheeky Ant and Dec with the Beautiful Cat Deeley bringing their on screen chemistry to ITVs version of 'Top of the Pops'.
Unlike the tame and shamelessly uninspiring TOTP, CD:UK would have guest have far more music for your money, with live performances from huge names. and even go on to insult the stars that had just performed, like when Jennifer Lopez came to CD:UK and gave a huge list of bizarre demands for her dressing room. Ant and Dec just went on air and told the world what she had requested and even went on to say that she would not be asked back. Would BBC ever dare such a thing? Looks like they could not find anyone on their payroll with the guts, hence the BBC bought the two cheeky lads back to the BBC.
Ant and Dec have been back and forth with TV networks flashing money at the duo as they are a blend of Morecambe & Wise and Vic & Bob.
Sadly with the cheeky twosome no more, Deeley could was not far behind.
Without the three stars CD:UK is more like the 'roxy show' than TOTP, unfortunately the only thing keeping CD:UK from falling below the chart show is that CD:UK does keep its live performances.
SMTV LIVE! is a shambles but at least the team stayed on for a while longer to keep CD:UK alive. but remember good things don't last forever, except 'Shooting Stars'
