Responding to the frightened screams of a young woman, Malone walks into a booby trap and is struck by a poisoned dart causing him to come to an untimely demise.
Trapped in a mine beneath an erupting volcano, Marguerite, Malone and Challenger encounters a subterranean cult and their young blond oracle and leader.
While searching for a possible water route off the plateau, Roxton, Challenger and Veronica become embroiled in an age old dispute after coming to the aid of a young woman being chased by a warrior on horseback.
Whilst eluding a group of raptors, Malone, Marguerite, Challenger and Roxton stumble upon the ruins of an ancient temple, where, at the centre of it, Challenger is amazed to find the crude etching of an atom.
Challenger, Roxton, and Veronica come upon an old friend of Challenger's, who resembles the sadistic "creator" Dr. Moreau. Elsewhere, Summerlee, Malone, and Marguerite meet an elderly woman who has a radio headset.

Malone, Marguerite and Challenger find a man staked between two trees and being attacked by wild dogs. Helping the man by setting him free and attending his wounds proves to be a wrong move.
A man and his teenage pupil are in the jungle when the man gets badly injured. Roxton gets to the man who lays dying who begs Roxton to make sure his teenage pupil is returned to his tribe in order to become their leader.
The explorers are caught in the middle of a war between Tribue, with gunpowder in toe, and Drakul and his barbaric raiders. One of them will be lost, possibly forever, when this battle reaches its cliffhanger.
