Screenwriter
Milos Macourek wanted this miniseries to be directed by his traditional collaborator
Václav Vorlícek. The German co-producer, however, insisted on
Jaroslav Dudek because he thought that the unexpected combination of the screenwriter of
Arabela (1980) and the director of
Hospital at the End of the City (1977) would bring a guaranteed hit.
