In today's society where everything is fast, fast, fast and super visual, the depiction of Jesus returning in modern day clothing gave an alternative look at how we TRULY see ourselves WITH Jesus in our hearts. It was a test of faith for the naysayers and of course, the non-believers of the world. Believers get saved, but when Jesus actually returns in the flesh, who is to say, he will return looking like the Jesus we have envisioned for centuries passed...wearing the long loose robe tied with a twisted rope. This movie was a wake up call for the possibility of the Messiah returning looking like YOU and/or ME...wearing jeans a tee shirt so that we can identify with him. Yet, the words he spoke were not believed...just as they were not in Biblical times. Awesome depiction of how some things change, but some remain the same with human nature. Jesus may have looked modern, but his words remained true to the word of God and his healing powers and message to the world never changed. Strong message delivered by a strong actor. Underwood was the perfect actor for this piece. Then he went on to be the voice of Jesus in the audio bible called "The Bible Experience"...AWESOME!!!I saw The Second Coming on VHS and it was purchased in Harlem, NYC from a Black Independent Film distributor located in the State Building on 125th Street. If I get more info, I will repost.
