Every week, Entertainment Weekly grills “Survivor” host Jeff Probst and asks him about the burning questions that pop up after each episode has aired. What with Season 40’s introduction of fire tokens as a kind of currency, the return of the Edge of Extinction and a line-up of super players who have already won the title of Sole Survivor on past seasons, it is little wonder that Jeff has already proclaimed “Winners at War” as “the best season ever of ‘Survivor’ we’ve ever seen.”
Here are his answers to two of the lingering questions that had long-time “Survivor” fans scratching their heads after watching the three tribes merge and witnessing the “get-back-in” challenge for those stuck on the Edge of Extinction.
Why did Natalie and Rob use their four fire tokens for challenge advantages instead of wasting three on an immunity idol? “Natalie and Rob took the approach of...

Let’s celebrate what Denise Stapley accomplished on last week’s “Survivor: Winners at War” when she blindsided an unusually complacent Sandra Diaz-Twine, the lone two-time winner of the CBS reality show who has appeared on the series five times over the years.
She pulled off quite a coup against fellow Dakal tribe member Sandra, who underestimated the more stealthy Denise after she offered her her-soon-to-expire immunity idol in exchange of her two fire tokens. They agreed that Denise would give her on token now and another after the idol proved to be legit at the trible council. What Sandra didn’t know was that Denise was plotting to use her very own idol against her.

Even before Denise Stapley (see above) pulled off her epic blindside of Sandra Diaz-Twine on the sixth episode of the current all-winners edition of “Survivor,” host Jeff Probst already was a big fan of the sex therapist who originally won the 25th edition of the show that was based in the Phillippines that aired in 2012. She not only became the only castaway to attend every single tribal council during her time on the show, Denise became the oldest female at age 41 to become the Sole Survivor.
In a 2015 interview, Probst named Denise as one of his top 10 favorite winners ever and one of his top four females winner of all time. But I am guessing her ranking might be a wee bit higher after she pulled off an epic blindside — one that Probst described as “one of the most vicious moves in the history of the game” to Entertainment Weekly . He also added,...

Let’s get one thing out of the way. The winner of each “Survivor” season deserved to win, because they were able to do the most important thing in the game, which is to convince the jury to vote for them to be the Sole Survivor. Each season comes with a different set of circumstances and we can respect the decision process that goes into rewarding one castaway over the other with the $1 million prize. That doesn’t stop us from feeling a little outraged over some jury decisions, however. Tour our gallery below of the 12 “Survivor” runners-up we feel were most robbed of the title.

Boston Rob Mariano and Sandra Diaz-Twine are supposed to be the best of the best of “Survivor” champs. Rob has now appeared on the long-running CBS reality show six times, including being a mentor along with Sandra on “Island of the Idols” earlier this year.
Meanwhile, the Queen has been on five seasons and remains the only castaway won the title of Sole Survivor twice.
You would think that now they are enmeshed in a season where all 20 players have won the game previously, they would be careful to not cause anyone to have a reason to vote them out. But both Rob and Sandra aren’t exactly making all the right moves.

Just days earlier, Ashley Nolan's immunity necklace was as good as Devon's, but on Wednesday's episode of Survivor, their alliance went kaput.
The 26-year-old lifeguard definitely proved that she had the strength to win challenges and the smarts to create strong alliances, but those alliances clearly weren't as strong as she thought.
"When [Devon and Chrissy] picked Ryan for the reward is when it first struck me as odd. I was like, 'Ok. There's a good chance that I just lost him,' but I was trying to be optimistic, and in my head, I was like, 'Maybe he's going to work for both of us. Maybe he's going to make some moves for both of us against Ben or against Mike,'" Ashley told Et over the phone on Thursday. "But when they got back, everything seemed different."

Desi Williams might be one of the sincerest people to play Survivor.
The Virginia native was voted out on Wednesday's episode of Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers after a tie and a missing vote -- but has no regrets about not voting for Joe.
"We got to the point in the game where Joe was the only one left in the game who I felt like I could trust," Desi told Et over the phone on Thursday. "At that point in time, Joe was the only person who wasn't lying to me. So I was having this really hard dilemma about whether I vote out the one person I trust in this game... And I felt like if I wrote his name down, that there were larger implications, that I might not ever trust anybody in life again."

Patrick Bolton was going to leave Survivor the same way he came in -- with a lot of personality.
The Auburn, Alabama, native became an instant topic of conversation when Heroes v. Healers v. Hustlers premiered last month, but not necessarily for good reasons. Patrick seemed to treat the game more like a vacation... that is, until he was voted out on Wednesday night's episode.
"It was one of the best blindsides, because I saw none of it coming," he told Et over the phone on Thursday. "Until we got to tribal council, Lauren was going home."
Months later, Patrick, who wished his tribe of Hustlers a "horrible game" for being "liars," doesn't count his heated goodbye among his gameplay regrets.

Director Doug Liman’s The Wall is not about Donald Trump’s wall on the Mexican border, the Berlin Wall that symbolized the divide between communist and capitalist countries in the Cold War, or even the Great Wall the Chinese built along their border. No, this wall is the crumbling remains of what was once a building in a contemporary desert war, zone a wall behind which a sniper may be hiding and which later shelters an American serviceman pinned down in that dusty war.
Liman is a skillful film maker but this a decidedly smaller film for the director behind The Bourne Identity and many others. The intimate war drama The Wall starts out in a contemporary desert war zone with a pair of U.S. Army Rangers, Sgt. Allen Isaac (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Staff Sgt.

Zeke Smith didn't win the title of Sole Survivor, but he has perhaps walked away with something more valuable.

Varner was promptly eliminated, though the media wasn't so keen to just snuff his torch and move on. In the weeks that followed, both Varner and Smith gave numerous interviews on the topic, starting a conversation about outing, transgender visibility in the media and even whether CBS was right to have aired the footage.

At 8 Pm Et/Pt on September 21st, the 33rd season of the CBS reality series Survivor will begin. This year’s competition carries the subtitle Millennials vs. Gen X, and it will pit contestants from two neighboring generations against one another. For fans of YouTube, there will be a familiar face in the Millennial camp. Mari Takahashi, known for her videos on the Smosh Games channel, will attempt to outlast her fellow competitors to earn the title of Sole Survivor.
As Takahashi tells Tubefilter, she was introduced to the CBS team behind Survivor after two fellow YouTube stars, Joslyn Davis and Erin Ward, were contestants on another CBS reality series, The Amazing Race. Davis and Ward are friends of Takahashi’s (and fellow Defy Media partners), which led to her selection for the new Survivor season.
To prepare for her Survivor role, Takasashi “binge-watched” all of the show’s previous seasons.

Survivor took fans on quite the ride for season 32, Kaoh Rong. There were plenty of blindsides, medical evacuations left and right, and a final twist that left everyone stunned when a jury member was voted out. At the end of it all, Michele won the $1 million grand prize and the title of Sole Survivor (though whether she actually deserved it is up for debate).
But now it's time to look forward and see what Jeff Probst has in store for us during season 33, airing in fall 2016.

What a ride. "Survivor: Kaôh Rōng," aka Season 32 -- and the second to carry the "Brains, Brawn, and Beauty" theme -- ended last night with a dramatic two hour finale and one-hour reunion show. Who won the $1 million and title of Sole Survivor? Mark the Chicken! Ok, maybe not, but he earned it. He was even there at Final Tribal on Tai Trang's lap.

In the end, the only two players to get votes were Aubry Bracco (Brains) and Michele Fitzgerald (Beauty), with Tai (Beauty) as the "goat." Aubry got two votes (Joe, Debbie) and Michele got five (Julia, Cydney, Nick, Jason, Scot), so it was a solid win for Michele. She might not have been the most expected winner. She might not be the most likable winner in Survivor history. Yet Michele Fitzgerald, the 24 year old bartender from New Jersey, won the million dollar prize on Survivor: Kaoh Rong.
To put it mildly, fans are not as excited as Michele. Many feel that Aubry was completely robbed of the victory she rightfully deserved. While those fans aren't totally wrong, they're also mistaken to say Michele didn't deserve to win. She might not have been anyone's first pick but Michele certainly deserves her title of Sole Survivor.

(Spoiler Alert: Please do not read this if you have not yet watched Wednesday’s “Survivor” finale) Michele Fitzgerald, a 24-year-old bartender from Freehold, New Jersey, won the title of “Sole Survivor” and the $1 million prize in the live vote reveal, broadcast from the CBS lot in Studio City, California, on Wednesday night. In a season split in to “Brains vs. Brawn vs. Beauty” tribes, Fitzgerald started on the Beauty tribe. Even though she had fleeting screen time in a season laden with breakout characters, several close watchers of her story arc had pegged Fitzgerald as a potential winner from early.

This fear is very real.
The most famous Power Couple in the history of reality television has to be Boston Rob and Amber (I'm sure Team Green from Season 27 of The Amazing Race would beg to differ, but c'mon, they couldn't even pull off the win in the end). Boston Rob and Amber were each contestants on different seasons of Survivor, who then met on the first edition of Survivor: All Stars, where they managed to not only start building a relationship, but managed to make it all the way to the top two, where Amber eventually took home the title of Sole Survivor (not to be outdone, Boston Rob went on to play many other seasons of Survivor without Amber, eventually winning, appropriately enough, Redemption Island). Oh, and Rob proposed to Amber right before the votes were revealed...like you do.

Fans knew the Dlc was coming, but they didn’t know when, with Bethesda doing a typically great job of keeping their big announcements behind shutters until such time as they see fit. Now, they’ve officially revealed three Dlc packs – Automatron, Wasteland Workshop and Far Harbor – which will be launching in March, April and May respectively.
Each Dlc focuses on different aspects of the game, and by the looks of things the biggest of the three packs will be Far Harbor, which as far as we know is the only one that actually opens up a whole new area for players to explore.
And with new content come new possibilities in a game that prides itself on offering players a ton of choice in how they want to engage with the world. Naturally, the Dlc has also courted its fair share of controversy, as Bethesda announced that the...

Bethesda Fallout 4 Review
If you’ve been wandering the Boston Wasteland from Day 1, your main Fallout 4 character is probably a behemoth by now; not exactly a Super Mutant Behemoth, but capable of taking one out with a single precise sniper shot or a piston-like smash from a Power Fist. In other words, your Sole Survivor numero uno may be handling themselves a little too well by now, and you may be on the lookout behind their back for a new avatar with which to traverse the glorious wastes.
The simple option is to play as the all-rounder, but if you feel confident in your grasp on the game’s mechanics, why not spice things up? How about a ninja who sticks to the shadows and strikes with fatal precision, or a heavy-handed meathead with an Iq of 40 whose graceless fists accidentally crush peoples’ skulls each time he tries to punch them in the face?...

It's almost Christmas, which means the end of another season of Survivor (2.2/8) and another winner named on the long-running Mark Burnett reality series. One of Bethesda’s greatest strengths across both their Elder Scrolls and Fallout franchises, is that ability to tell hundreds of different, self-contained stories that hold your interest just as much as anything with one long-running narrative.
Fallout 4 doesn’t disappoint either, as the Sole Survivor’s quest to retrieve his stolen son is certainly a highlight, yet it’s the hidden gems scattered throughout the irradiated wasteland that shine brightest.
So much has happened in the 200 years since the bombs first dropped, that although choosing a direction to head in can be a daunting task, Bethesda guarantee there’ll be something – or someone – worth interacting with.
It’s that very freedom to explore that has, and always will be, the main draw of the series, but just to make sure you’re getting the most out the game, here are 10 of the most impactful, interesting and intriguing stories the Commonwealth has to offer.

The very first Survivor Series event took place way back in 1987. Originally, the concept was very simple. Teams of 4 or 5 men/women would band together and attempt to eliminate – one-by-one – their opponents. Whomever was left standing at the end would be declared a survivor. If only a single person was left remaining, they would be decreed a ‘Sole Survivor’, something which was designed to put them over.
As the years progressed, the then-wwf moved away from the team-based premise and started presenting more standard matches on the Pay-Per-View. 1992 marked the first time the show didn’t finish with a traditional Survivor Series elimination match. Instead, Bret Hart faced Shawn Michaels in a singles bout to close out the show.
In 2010, the event’s history was threatened. Feeling the concept was a little tired, Vince McMahon announced to investors that he was going to move away from the idea of the Survivor Series.

Carolyn Rivera had a rough "Survivor" finale night. Not only did the Florida-based corporate executive lose the "Survivor: Worlds Apart" crown to Mike Holloway, but she received fewer votes than she anticipated, in tying with Will Sims for third with one vote apiece. And then to make things worse, Carolyn's candidacy for next season's "Survivor: Second Chances" fell short. [It's no solace, probably, but Mike thinks Carolyn got hosed in the Second Chance voting process] So you'll forgive me for treating Carolyn as the season's second place finisher, at least in terms of exit interview publication. Carolyn earned it. In addition to a key Individual Immunity win, a crucial play on a hidden Idol that she found sans clue and successful maintenance of majority alliance that would have won the day were it not for Mike's Immunity hot streak, Carolyn also earned her place in the Final 3 with a thrilling, tie-breaking fire build victory over Rodney.
