First Chipmunks movie with no mention of the Chipettes.
Billy West was considered for the role of Alvin in this film, but West rejected the role because he did not want to hear his voice all high pitched, leaving Ross Bagdasarian Jr., once again, taking the role of Alvin.
When the Chipmunks' faces are distorted by fear and g-forces in the runaway roller coaster, they are for a brief moment returning to their appearances from The Alvin Show (1961), then to "realistic" looking chipmunks as on their first album covers, before returning to their normal selves.
Jeff Bennett was considered for the role of David Seville in this film, but was too busy working on other movies and tv shows.
In the end credits, the boys sing a Frankenstein version of "Dem Dry Bones (Ankle Bone Connected to the Knee Bone)," an African-American spiritual arranged by James Weldon Johnson and J. Rosamond Johnson in the 1920s, based on Ezekiel chapter 37. A similar version of the song was sung by Herman Munster, aka the Frankenstein Monster, in Will Success Spoil Herman Munster? (1965) more than 30 years earlier.
