Style Trial came out during the Yuppie Era. When you had style over substance and this was a poor panel game where three celebrities attempted to deduce the lifestyles of members of the public from clues in a short film.
It was an attempt to do a funky version of 'Through the Keyhole' but with ordinary members of the public. In reality many were wannabe poseurs.
People appearing on the show tended to be from the world of marketing, fashion and such like. The type that nowadays end up as contestants in reality shows.
Helen Atkinson-Wood did her sterling best to make the show entertaining and funny, but this was a poor format, the celebrities were often left floundering.
