BODYGUARD KIBA 2, aka KARATE KILLER, picks up where the first film left off. Our hero gets into trouble and is sent to prison, where he befriends a fellow con before coming out and working for gangsters in a nightclub. The film favours plot over action, but these Japanese action movies of the 1970s were never known for their strong plotting, so it loses a bit there. The main villain from the STREET FIGHTER films turns up for a random cameo at the outset and Etsuko Shihomi has a small role as Chiba's sister. The main thrust of the plot is about another couple and Chiba himself becomes a supporting character before a satisfyingly violent climax.
