Itatí Cantoral's antagonistic character Soraya Montenegro was made an Internet meme. Shots of her crying are subtitled "Cries in Spanish", or "Dies in Spanish" with the character passed out, etc.
Although playing mortal enemies on the show, Itatí Cantoral (Soraya) and Thalía (María la del Barrio) are very good friends in real life. Thalía is the godmother of Itatí's twin children.
