Discharged, catholic priest Pellegrin is back to his cure of Sableuse .But the castle has been sold to Nouveaux Riches,the Cousinet ,whereas the former owners ,Monsieur De Sableuse and his son,have settled in the outhouse.Cousinet campaigns for his election as the village's mayor while Sableuse Junior woos Madame Cousinet assiduously to such an extent that they both leave for Paris .The priest is not prepared to accept it and he goes to the capital,determined to bring back the stray sheep.—dbdumonteil
