I really am not so sure about this show. When I was a little girl, I begged my mum to put on the tapes for me, so I could watch Postman Pat and his black-and-white cat go on all their amazing adventures.
Now I'm not so sure.
I gave this show a 6 out of 10 because, even though the new series is far from perfect, it has its moments. Like baby Niquille (please pardon my spelling). And something about Mira and the Doncaster soccer team. I wasn't too keen on the Greendale Rocket and Clown episodes, they were okay, but I much prefer the old series. Don't get me wrong, both are carefully crafted in a manner that only the British can achieve, but the old series had that archaic mid-20th-century England sort of feel, which was peculiar in a time like the 1980s. The new series is, in one word, alright. But Postman Pat is still an old favorite of mine, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Very good, a true masterpiece of the 80's T.V. This series, passes a beautiful message, very good morals and very good examples. Even from those series that mark our childhood. In addition, it has a fantastic stop motion. The only problems in the series are the fact that some (most) of the episodes are quite dry and also that the characters do not wag their mouths as they speak (hence I do not give more stars). Highly recommend for children.

Since there wasn't a single comment about this marvelous TV-series, I thought to share some of my thoughts about it. For the record: I'm not 6 years old anymore (sadly...), so please try to see my views expressed here in that perspective. ;) This show is not running in Finland anymore (doubt if anywhere?) and unfortunately I too have no idea on what time period this series was made, or for how long it was on TV. But it's OLD I tell you that! But enough of that. I used to love this series when I was a little kid! I remember that at some point I actually wanted to be him... Or at least a postman anyways!
For all of you who don't know what this series was all about, I'm now going to tell it to you fair and square. The whole idea is simply based around the life of this well-mannered and witty English postman. He always comes across with these problems that seem to make the deliverance of mail hard or almost impossible! Eg. road block of some sort, flat tire, weather conditions etc. But being a smart man, he always finds a way, one way or another. By his own or with help of other characters in the series. I can't remember much about the other characters, just remember the good-old Pat and his way cool lorry!
The roads portrayed in the series are really really winding and tiny plus they're surrounded on both sides by stone walls. So, Pat must have both eyes on the road at all times when driving around with his lorry through the bumpy scenery! Though, somehow I have this image that Pat used to be quite easy-going fella all in all and he usually was a bit heavy on the gas, if you know what I mean? ;)
As far as I can recall the series was 'acted' by puppets, which probably gave it that great and funny look. And the jingle was unforgettable too! I would sing it here, if I only could... Heh! So, in short: Postman Pat is awesome. I recommend to all the kids and child-like adults! ;) Enjoy! (And drive carefully!)

I have had more entertainment from watching bin bag float around than from this awfulness.Seriously the creators need to think up some ideas for a new show such as an episode where they sit down and drink mountain dew and chat about porcelain pigs and good games like pass the Kim Kardashian doll around and whoever wins gets an Xbox with Fifa 2000.Sadly days like these are gone and we are left with a predictable postman story that has been running for too long so yeah.A pandemic episode or even a 2-part exorcism special. They should make a show like Death to all humans. Now on the subject of voice actors, they should of got Donald Trump to voice Postman Pat, and Kim Kardashian to play the wife. This was a bad film.
Postman Pat and his black and white cat, Jess - legends in their own right. I was entertained endlessly by pat and his adventures when I was a young lad. The stories are simple and very easy to understand and teach us all valuable lessons on the road to life about being helpful and kind to your neighbours. With a theme song that rocks and other songs and music that were great to hum along to, Pat was truly a hero for our times. He's changed recently; in my opinion the changes are not that great. They've tried to make Pat even more PC, his lips move (sacrilege!) and there's no more moments of Pat just driving like there were in the 80s...just driving through the countryside. If anything the Postman Pat of today comments on the fast-pace of our children's society. But despite all that, no once can argue that Pat was, is and shall always be the greatest British hero.

Along with Fireman Sam, Rosie and Jim and Pingu, this was a show I used to watch a lot when I was little. How I miss it. The look of the show is great, the theme song is enough to make you sing along, the characters are really endearing(I remember loving Jess, the adorable black and white cat most of all) and the story lines are simple and fun. Add some nice writing, thoughtful narration and the show's nostalgic value for me and you have a simply great show. It wasn't predictable at all, the length was just right as was the pacing and it was just great show really. Nothing else really to say other than a well deserved 9/10 Bethany Cox

Among the shows I watched growing up, Postman Pat, along with Thomas the Tank Engine, Sooty and Co, Fireman Sam and Inspector Gadget, is a show I truly hold dear, and always will, no matter how old I am.
Postman Pat showcases the simple plot of a friendly and good-natured postman going round the beautiful village of Greendale, delivering letters and parcels to and fro, as well as helping out his friends during certain events that occur, like, for example, stopping an out-of-control robot postman from causing havoc (from the episode Postman Pat and the Robot, one of my favourites), or trying to stop a wild animal causing havoc (from the episode Postman Pat and the Beast of Greendale).
The early series of Postman Pat, 1 and 2, are considered by many to be the most desirable, and I agree.
This review has been made in honour of Ken Barrie, the original voice of the world's most beloved postman, who sadly passed away last year (2016). R. I. P Ken. You did a great job, being the voice of our favourite postman, as well as other characters. You made my childhood and others too, and will never be forgotten.

Postman Pat was one of my favorite tv show since I was a little human. I even feel chills in my spine and a great feel of nostlagia hearing the song again after many many years of not watching it.
Watching this show will make you want to go or atleast think what if our world is like in the town where Postman Pat lives. Clean, peaceful, friendly neighborhood, no life problems, and etc.
I find it very fun and relaxing to watch Postman Pat as I feel like I'm also one of them. I find it interesting because it is animated with figures and miniature place that makes it realistic, until after years and years of not thinking about this show, I saw the new one called "Postman Pat Special Delivery" I think?
It was nice but not great for me. I felt a little sad that as what I see from others, they also changed and "improved". The new one felt like no different than watching a fully computer graphic animated show. I didn't feel like I was in their world, it felt weird. I can't get that feeling that I was watching some toys living in a mini world and that old peaceful and happy environment that was in the first one.
Still, Postman Pat is one of the great childhood shows I watched. It became a part of my childhood and it played a part on my happiness back then.

I can't believe there's only one comment on this show on here! This show was an essential part of my childhood and it's still great today, hence why me and my friends made our own episode. I'm not to sure about the 2004 series with Comedy Jess, but the original Series was great!
The series for those who don't know follows the 'adventures' of Britain, if not the world's favourite postman and his black and white cat Jess.
Many tried to imitate it in later years like Fireman Sam, but although good, that couldn't match Pat, in fact that's a good idea for a 1 on 1 beat-em-up featuring: Portland Bill Postman Pat Fireman Sam & Bertha.
Up the Greendale massive!

I am 55 and my daughter is 20. We recently bought the Pieter Post dvd's (dutch version) and yes, we are still very fond of this series. As an adult I have extra attention for the making of the puppets, the hair, the fabrics,... It is still as endearing as in 'the old days' !!! A classic to keep.
