Looks like there are attempts by vested interests to bring the fans wars over stars on to the streets. One knows the kind of groups that get into prolonged arguments on X for the star they favour, or are appointed by, or paid occasionally. They also abuse and run down other stars. All they need to do is toe the line their star master has assigned to them.
Okay, so you have been given a task to propagate a star and be more vehement when his film is due, and you are doing your job. Because you believe in your star, or are a part of his promotion team, or just because you have been paid for the job. Just like some so-called critics and influencers are.
But why extend your brief and get into a war of words, mostly foul words, with the lot doing the same thing? You...

In celebration of Lord Shiva’s Maha Shivratri, one of the most prominent festivals of the Hindu calendar, we bring you some of our favourite Lord Shiva related Bollywood songs.
As we explore a few of the different shades that Bollywood has celebrated Lord Shiva through, we take you on a very quick journey beginning in 1950, with the song “Bhole nath se nirala” to end with Koyla’s (1997) mischievous “Bhang Ke Nashe Mein”.
Known by at least 1008 different names, including “Kailas” (One who bestows Peace), “Shambu” (Source of everything) and “Hari” (Sustainer and Destroyer), Lord Shiva is said to have married Parvarti on Maha Shivratri. Other readings of Hinduism state that Maha Shivratri is the night on which Shiva performed “Tandava” – the dance that led to the creation, conservation and destruction of the Universe.

After being almost two years in the making, Rakesh Roshan’s Krrish 3 finally sees the light of the day this November the 4th. As expected brother Rajesh Roshan does the music for the film. Some say that Pancham, R D Burman, felt that one of the most impressive musicians around is Rajesh Roshan. Whilst the composer has given us some classic albums in the 90s, Koyla, Karan Arjun and Papa Kehte Hai, to name a few, come the millennium we hear very little from the composer except for his work for his brother’s films and the occasional exceptions. Time to see if his latest album for the home production lives up to the high expectations.
Mamta Sharma (‘Munni Badnaam’ – Dabangg) opens the album with Krrish Title track along with Anirudh Bola and Rajesh Roshan’s contribution, although Mama remains the leading voice of the track. Rajesh mixes classical Indian music themes with techno.

One of our favorite and well, my favorite Ost’s if you read my 4 star review, so far this year, has been Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy’s aka Sel’s music for Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s tale of the inspiring winning life of Milkha Singh starring Farhan Akhtar. With an eclectic and very cool mix of sounds, flavors, genres, notes and voices they have created a fabulous set of songs for the film. Fans loved the tracks just hearing them when the Ost first released and could not wait to see how they played out on screen. As happens, many times, you can love a song just hearing it but once you see it in the film, you love it even more and that is true of Bmb. In her 4.5 star movie review for us, Aashi Gahlot said, “Every song belongs to the moment it represents perfectly.

To celebrate her birthday and to celebrate the Dancing queen coming back to Bollywood we polled some of our writers to find out what was their favorite Madhuri Moment on screen. Many could not think of just one and had, had, had to write about more than one, even up to six yes six! Sit back, relax and enjoy some of our favorite Madhuri scenes and of course dances!

Aur Paas…(Dil Toh Pagal Hai, 1997)
My favorite scene involves Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit and is from the movie Dil Toh Pagal Hai. According to me, this is one of the most romantic scenes ever (and what else to expect from a Yash Chopra movie), but with a playful touch and that combo makes the scene so interesting to watch.

Due to his back injury and ongoing treatment Hrithik Roshan is not acting in the first schedule of Krrish 3 that went on floors from December 1. After this schedule that features his co-stars Vivek Oberoi, Priyanka Chopra and Kangana Ranaut gets over, he will be joining them to reprise his role as Krrish who is speculated to save the Seven Wonders of the World in this sequel. A complete workaholic Hrithik preferred to be behind in the camera instead of taking a break. He co-directed few shots and actively got involved in the creative decisions. His father and director Rakesh Roshan confirmed that Hrithik has always helped him whenever they have shot together for their banner Filmkraft’s productions. Kites
Couple of basic rules of kite flying - keep the kite small and don’t let it soar too high. If it’s big it will be difficult to maneuver, and you could lose control if it goes too far.
‘Kites’ has defied both the rules with its ambitious scale and an even ambitious promotion plan. Result? A resounding Bo-Kaata from the audience. For all its willingness to fly in the Hollywood skies, this slick Anurag Basu production doesn’t even take off the ground.
Two star crossed lovers rub an influential Las Vegas family the wrong way and then spend the rest of the film, negotiating predictable twists and turns, trying to escape its wrath. 30 minutes into the film and you exactly know how exactly the story will unfold.
To its credit the film has got some arresting imagery and only a couple of sequences that stand out...

The bigger the budget... the bigger the names... the bigger the hype, hoopla and razzmatazz... the bigger the expectations from the film. Kites has some of the biggest names in the business - Rakesh Roshan, Anurag Basu and Hrithik Roshan, to name a few - and the film, therefore, carries this gargantuan responsibility on its shoulders. It has to soar higher than the hits delivered by this trio. Anything less will just not do!
The million dollar question is, does Kites fly high? Let me hit the nail on the head: The film has some terrific moments and of course, Hrithik Roshan's star power to cast a spell, but it has plenty of low moments. In fact, Kites could've been a cult film, but its writing relies too heavily on clichés and formulaic stuff and that, frankly, throws a spanner.

It seems Deepshikha Nagpal who has done mostly supporting roles in film like Koyla, Baadshah, Partner Dhoom Dhadaka etc) had realized- the only way she will be able to fulfill her dreams of playing lead roles in the films is by producing one for herself.
But this actress has gone a step ahead and has also decided to direct and write a love story titled Yeh Dooriyan which also stars Chitrashi Rawat of Chak De India, K K Menon and a new face. “It was not tough juggling some many roles, as things fell into place. Friends... what's up with this month! Practically most of the stars (read 'superstars') have ascended from the heavens to be one amongst us and shine (quite literally) in Bollywood! Don't believe us? Then, well, here's the sample list: Right from the start of the year, one has witnessed the birthdays of legendary actors like Bipasha Basu, Vidya Balan, Koena Mitra, Irrfan Khan, Farhan Akhtar...to name a few! Requesting you all to hold your breath as we announce the name of today's Birthday Boy...it is none other than Hrithik Roshan! Not many know that this dude's debut was actually as a child artist in the film Aasha, when he was merely six years old! Later on, he went onto play minuscule but prominent roles in Aap Ke Deewane and Bhagwan Dada. It's only after that he went onto assist his director father in the productions of Karan Arjun and...
