Aaro Saarinen is the boss at his working place, but at home he can't get control on his children. His son doesn't want to follow his father's dream and daughter falls for a rocker.Aaro is not a happy man.He finds some comfort in booze and Mrs. Marjatta Kaartinen.Takiaispallo (1970) is directed by Veli-Matti Saikkonen. The characters portrayed here are mostly fascinating personas. And the actors portraying those characters are top-notch.Tapio Hämäläinen plays his part of the flawed man brilliantly.Hillevi Lagerstam is terrific as his wife. She won a Jussi award for her performance.Terhi Panula does great work in her debut movie as the daughter Annika. Her little brother Sami Panula is a great kid actor as Sami Saarinen.Kirka Babitzin, who left this Earth way too soon, is marvelous as the singer boyfriend.Pekka Saaristo is great as Martti Saarinen.Aila Arajuuri is amazing as Marjatta, with whom Aaro has the affair.Gustav Wiklund plays the part of her husband, Insurance inspector Erik Kaartinen.Anitta Niemi plays Annika's friend.Hellin Auvinen-Salmi is Annika's grandmother.Music has a big role in this movie.Eero Koivistoinen and Tasavallan Presidentti were behind the music.Kirka performs songs Saat Kaiken and Kaukainen Valo. The movie has plenty of good stuff. It's nice to look at the romance of two young people in the Finnish nature. The scenes between father and son, Aaro and Martti are very heated. This movie is a fascinating look into the world that no longer exists.
