When Guybrush knocks over the silent patron of the chicken restaurant on Plunder Island, it is revealed to be Manny Calavera, star of Grim Fandango (1998), another Lucasarts game. He even has a button that reads "Ask me about Grim Fandango."

Goofs
The previous game Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge (1991) ended very strangely: Guybrush finds himself as small kid with his "brother" LeChuck and his "parents" in an amusement park. In the beginning of this game, Guybrush is on the sea in a floating bumper car. No explanation is given what happened in between.

Quotes

Crazy credits
After the credits, there is a little scene between a father and a son in "Big Whoop" amusement park, where the father tells the rumor about the builder of the park buried somewhere in the tunnels under the park.

Alternate versions
Non-English language versions leave out the "A Pirate I Was Meant To Be" song section, as it relies strongly on rhyming of English words.

My favorite in the Monkey Island Series

Great game! I love the Romance involved too, I don't care if I sound soppy, but this game would be good in a movie! Definitely my favorite in the entire Monkey Island series! In some places, you are close to tears...
