Recently I told ya creeps my thoughts on the new flea-bitten fright flick Bubba The Redneck Werewolf. In short, I loved the damn thing! And, as fate—along with an arcane ceremony involving spells etched on human flesh, a coupon for 2 for 1 strip steak at Sizzler, and a dog-eared copy of Swank—would have it, the die-rector and producer of ol’ Bubba are here right now with me in the Crypt o’ Xiii! So let’s put our paws together for Brendan Jackson Rogers and Will Phillips!
Famous Monsters. How did ya hear about ol’ Bubba the Redneck Werewolf, and what made ya think that lovable lycanthrope would make a bone-a-fide fright flick star?
Brendan Jackson Rogers. First off, we couldn’t be more excited to be talking to the Coffin Club. Thanks for having us! Our introduction to the redneck werewolf began with meeting Mitch Hyman [who I just so happened to have a jaw shesh with right here! - Xiii] through a mutual friend.

Josh Hartnett has worked in TV before. Sure, you probably know the actor from such blockbusters as "Blackhawk Down" and "Sin City" or cult favorites like "The Virgin Suicides" and "The Faculty," but the Minnesota native also starred in 16 episodes of ABC's series "Cracker: Mind Over Murder" from 1997-1998. While it wasn't quite his breakout role, Hartnett is hoping for a longer run when he returns to the now very different medium in Showtime's "Penny Dreadful," a dark horror story from writer/creator John Logan and executive producer Sam Mendes. Hartnett flew back from Dublin, where he'd just wrapped on the series, to attend the SXSW premiere of his new show, and afterward sat down to with Indiewire to discuss it. Scandal, Season 3, Episode 13, “No Sun on the Horizon”
Written by Matt Byrne
Directed by Randall Zisk
Airs Thursdays at 10pm Est on ABC
On this week’s Scandal, Olivia and Jake play at a real relationship, Sally has a nervous breakdown, the president throws a debate, and David tries to move forward with framing Cyrus for murder.
Remember when everyone on Scandal seemed like a decent human being? Olivia Pope and her gladiators were doing bad things for good reasons, and even villains like Cyrus or Hollis Doyle seemed relatively tame?
Scandal apparently has an unwritten rule somewhere stating that no character on the show can be wholly good or pure. Almost everyone’s a murderer (as Olivia Pope herself realizes during an impromptu laugh/cry session that’s both funny and deeply troubling to watch) now, with the exception of David Rosen, who might be dead or fatally wounded,...

Agents of Shield, Season 1, Episode 12, “Seeds”
Written by Monica Owusu-Breen and Jed Whedon
Directed by Ken Fink
Agents of Shield has struggled in its first season to find its voice as a stand-alone TV show and its identity within the larger Marvel universe. One possible reason is that the show hasn’t developed a formula. “Seeds” does not change this, but while it does not develop a formula unique to Agents of Shield, it does borrow an episodic formula familiar to fans of The X-Files or Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Fitz and Simmons return to Shield Academy after an accident involving technology that they developed while studying at the academy. A student has built a device capable of freezing water in the air, which could be weaponized to freeze enemies to death or create massive weather storms. Donnie, a highly intelligent and socially awkward freshman, is under suspicion for being behind the accident,...

Scandal, Season 3, Episode 5, “More Cattle, Less Bull”
Written by Jenna Bans
Directed by Randy Zisk
Airs Thursdays at 10pm Est on ABC
On this week’s Scandal, Olivia picks up a new client, Mellie makes a startling request, Fitz faces off with Papa Pope, and Jake teams up with Huck to uncover secrets from Fitz’s past.
After last week’s dull procedural episode, Scandal ups the intrigue by throwing the audience back into the political election game season one explored so memorably. Sure, the teenage pregnancy storyline is well-worn and a little boring, but Lisa Kudrow keeps it compelling with her brilliant portrayal of a presidential nominee torn between family and her career. It’ll be fun to watch her square off against President Grant–he may actually have decent competition this time around.
Of course, from the moment hints of re-election began this season, we knew it was...

Jamie salutes the might of Jimmy McGovern's Cracker, starring Robbie Coltrane and now celebrating its twentieth anniversary...
Whenever I'm asked to name the best TV dramas of all time I have no hesitation in trotting out the holy trinity of The Sopranos, The Wire and Breaking Bad. If I'm in a 'Top Ten' situation, the contest for the remaining seven places is usually fought between other Us shows. And then, mid-compilation, a feeling passes through me like I've just forgotten my nephew's birthday, and an angry Robbie Coltrane dive-bombs into my consciousness. 'Cracker...' I gasp. 'How could I have forgotten about Cracker?'
How indeed. Cracker is a beautiful and brutal cocktail of gruesome entertainment, savage social commentary and unflinching truth, brought to life by the angry genius of writer/creator Jimmy McGovern and the succulently human, career-defining performance of Robbie Coltrane...

"Marvel's Agents of Shield" has added a new actor in a recurring role. "Ghost Whisperer" alum David Conrad will join Season 1 of the new ABC show as an undisclosed character, TVLine reports.
ABC wouldn't comment on the casting, but TVLine believes that Conrad could play the part of a "brilliant and quirky scientist" in his mid-40s who the production has been searching for. If that's the case, it could be that Conrad is a part of the secret villainous Project Centipede that is trying to manufacture superpowers (or at least that seems to be the organization's goal based on the pilot).
It also could be that Conrad is playing a member of the Shield organization who fans don't meet in the pilot, though that's not as fun a speculation, especially since Agents Fitz and Simmons have the science angle down in the "Agents" team. Regardless, it's nice to see...

TVLine is reporting that "Ghost Whisperer" star David Conrad has just landed a recurring role on the upcoming "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." As with J. August Richards' casting, the role is being kept a secret for the time being, but the site notes that Conrad fits the type for a character the show was looking to cast described as "a brilliant and quirky scientist." Who do you think Conrad is playing? Sound off below with your theory! Clark Gregg reprises his role of Agent Phil Coulson from Marvel.s feature films as he assembles a small, highly select group of Agents including: Brett Dalton as Agent Grant Ward, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May and Chloe Bennet as the...

In sad news, Family Ties creator and Spin City co-creator Gary David Goldberg died two days shy of his 69th birthday. Our best wishes to his loved ones in this tough time. I’d like to think Ubu is performing tricks for him, now.
In an interview with Hitfix‘s Alan Sepinwall, Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner explained the rationale behind Bob Benson, “we really wanted to show that Pete has everything, and this underling who is Don Draper-like — except for the fact that he admires Pete, wants everything Pete has and loves Pete — everything about him… We wanted it to be that this man is doing everything right, his success is not based on merit in some way, but it’s not like he’s offensive. For Pete to realize what he was losing, and this man would ascend, because he knew what he was doing.”

At ABC‘s upfront, there were a few things that the network wanted to make sure you knew. 1) They are really impressed with the idea that people are going to watch Rebel Wilson do just about anything, and 2) There isn’t anything they’re happier about than bringing you more episodes of television created by Shonda Rhimes.
On these notes, the network would love for you to know that more Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal are coming your way. These, ABC would like to impress upon you (as advertisers) are really good shows. Because… hellllooo… so many people watch them that we’re bringing them back. But wait, don’t think that you’re as excited as you can get yet, because if those are your favorite shows, then we have a new one for you to fall in love with, Betrayal.

Maybe Olivia Pope needs to do some damage control for ABC, which brought back only two of the 10 shows it premiered last season. At the network’s upfront presentation on Tuesday, Kerry Washington appeared in a pre-taped clip as her character from Scandal, and offered advice to Anne Sweeney, the president of Disney/ABC Television Group, alongside Jimmy Kimmel. Discussing the problem of Dancing With the Stars, which took a ratings dip this season, Kimmel quipped, “For one thing, they’re not really stars.” There aren’t a ton of stars in ABC’s new lineup, either — but there are...

She's beautiful, stylish and fun, but when Lauren Conrad throws a party, it's actually her rescue dogs, Chloe and Fitz, who end up stealing the scene. "They get thrilled when I have people over because they get so much attention," the fashion expert, 27, told People at a launch event for Malibu Island Spiced Rum in New York on May 7. "They're the belles of the ball," she said, before humorously wondering about new addition Fitz, "What's a boy belle of the ball?" But while she described her pooches as "sweet," not everything is perfect at Casa Conrad since the arrival of Fitz,...

The Fall TV Season presentations for all the new network shows take place this week with the third announced earlier today. Here's a full breakdown of which concepts have made the final list over on ABC.
The network is changing up some of its serialized dramas - removing random repeats in favor of two "uninterrupted runs" of twelve episodes each (one in the fall, one in the spring) for shows like "Once Upon A Time," "Grey’s Anatomy," "Scandal" and "Revenge". The large gaps between the two half-seasons will be bridged by "limited series" designed around only 12-13 episode seasons.
Several other pilots didn't make the final cut and won't be seen including the high-profile "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" rip-off "Gothica", McG's rip-off of Baz Luhrmann's "Romeo + Juliet" entitled "Westside", the series based on Disneyland's Big Thunder Mountain ride, the Annie Potts-led "Murder in Manhattan" about...

Lauren Conrad can't seem to get enough of her new puppy, Fitz.
"All I want to do is take pictures of this little cutie," she recently proclaimed on Instagram, referring to the adorable four-legged friend she rescued from an animal shelter.
But it seems Fitz was naughty this week, mistaking Conrad's sneaker for a chew toy.
"#dogshaming," Conrad posted, along with a photo of the pup looking innocent as can be. However, a note that reads "I thought your shoe was a snack" reveals the most likely cause of the damage.

What was your favorite scene from this episode?
Carla: It was a combination of two scenes. First, when the mistress asks for more money and Olivia tells her that no amount of money will get her what she wants: Christmas, fights, dinners, etc. It was heartbreaking. The other scene is when the pastor's wife reached out for the mistress and her husband's son. Maybe they will find a happy ending.
