Rock offered Louis C.K. the position of co-creator and head writer. But C.K. turned it down to be head writer on The Dana Carvey Show (1996). After Carvey's show was quickly canceled, C.K. asked Rock for a job as a staff writer.
Although the show was only broadcast on HBO and video, it is best known for the racially-driven and profane sketch "How to not Get Your Ass Kicked by the Police".
