Updated: There has been another round of content removal from Disney+, this time in the Emea region, which consists of Europe, the Middle East and Africa. More than 120 titles have been taken off this week, primarily Disney Channel original movies and vintage Disney live-action films, as well as a few series, including Zeke and Luther, Pepper Ann, So Random and the first three seasons of Nat Geo’s Genius and ESPN/Nat Geo docs.
According to sources, the takedowns were a result of a library title review. There have been several content purges at Disney+ over the last year amid cost-cutting, most notably the removal of a slew of original series last May.
Here is a list of movie titles that are said to be gone from Disney+ in Emea, compiled by Drew Ryan.

If you’re a child of the nineties, chances are you grew up loving Sinbad. Also known as David Atkins, Sinbad began his comedy career as a contestant on Star Search before nabbing his breakout role on the Cosby Show spin-off, A Different World, where he played Coach Walter Oakes; he served as a mentor to the main cast, who all played students at the fictional Hillman College. His distinctive look made him instantly identifiable, and it wasn’t long before he started showing up in movies, with roles in Necessary Roughness and Coneheads.
His career was unusual because most people went to TV after their movie careers cooled down. For Sinbad, it was the opposite. His solo TV show, The Sinbad Show, was a flop, but shortly afterwards, his movie career went into high gear, with him appearing in a string of hit movies. His biggest hit was Houseguest opposite the late Phil Hartman,...

Zachery Ty Bryan is making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Police arrested the former Home Improvement actor in Eugene, Ore. on Friday, July 28, following an altercation with an unnamed woman, according to a report from Entertainment Weekly.
The one-time sitcom star, 41, reportedly assaulted a woman, whose name was not released. When police arrived at the residence, Bryan was no longer there. He was later tracked down and booked on charges of felony assault.
The incident comes nearly three years after Bryan’s arrest in October 2020, also following a domestic violence incident. In that case, he was accused of assaulting his 27-year-old girlfriend, Johnnie Faye Cartwright, and taking her phone away when she attempted to call 911. He was booked on a felony charge of strangulation and misdemeanor charges of assault in the fourth degree and interfering with making a report, Us Weekly reported at the time.

Comedian and stand-up comic Sinbad is recovering from a recent stroke, according to a statement from his family.

If you thought the “Shazaam” phenomenon was over, what with the fleeting nature of the never-ending meme cycle, then you may have mixed feelings about an April Fool’s video released by College Humor yesterday. Presented as two minutes of found footage from the film in question — a nonexistent and vaguely racist conflation of “Kazaam,” in which Shaq plays a genie, and Sinbad’s ’90s oeuvre — the video asserts that “Shazaam” does in fact exist.

This is the second "old guys doing young guy stuff" that Robert DeNiro has starred in this year, and it is by far the weirder of the two. That may be because it feels like a studio movie caught somewhere between two very different schools of comedy. The script is credited to Tim Kelleher and Rodney Rothman, which could account for the split-personality of the film. Kelleher is the writer of "First Kid," credited as a staff writer on "The Arsenio Hall Show" and "The Pat Sajak Show," while Rothman is a frequent collaborator of Nick Stoller's, one of the major...

From attempted assassinations, to an overrun White House, it’s safe to say that cinematic Presidents don’t exactly have it easy, especially when their lives are quite literally in the hands of their friend-or-foe secret service agents. In Olympus Has Fallen Gerard Butler plays Mike Banning, a disgraced former Presidential guard trapped in the White House when it falls under terrorist attack. It is then up to him to retake Olympus (secret service lingo for the White House), and save the President from his captors. With all the action and saving of a distressed President, Butler’s Mike Banning easily joins our list of actors who have stepped into the line of fire to valiantly protect the President. On a scale of success rates from Nicholas Cage in Guarding Tess to Dennis Quaid in Vantage Point, we’d say Olympus Has Fallen belongs somewhere near the top. Some secret...

If you're casting an older actor to play the role of Sylvester Stallone's ringside coach, you couldn't do much better than Burgess Meredith, who starred as Mickey Goldmill in four of the first five Rocky movies. Sadly, however, Meredith died in 1997. So who would be the best possible actor to take the role today? The new movie Grudge Match has found him. Variety reports that the boxing feature, which pits Stallone up against Robert De Niro (a la Rocky Balboa vs. Jake La Motta) is now in talks with Alan Arkin to play Stallone's trainer. The film is being directed by Peter Segal (Tommy Boy, Anger Management) and is based on a script by Tim Kelleher (First Kid). The story follows Henry 'Razor' Sharp (Stallone) and Billy 'The Kid' McGuigan (Robert De Niro), two fighters who end their careers on the same night. The Kid, who lost the fight...

Sinbad is coming to Syfy.
Sadly, it's not the Sinbad of "Jingle All the Way"/"First Kid"/"A Different World" fame (that would be too awesome). It's Sinbad, the heroic Middle Eastern sailor, in the latest of many versions of his tale.
This one is a 12-part series from BBC Worldwide/Sky 1 and stars newcomer Elliot Knight as the seafaring adventurer and "Lost's" Naveen Andrews as his arch-nemesis, Lord Akbari.
Sophie Okonedo ("Hotel Rwanda"), Timothy Spall ("The King's Speech") and Dougray Scott ("Ever After") are set for special appearances, while the regular cast includes Elliot Cowan as Norwegian sailor Gunnar, Marama Corlett as jewel-thief Rina, Estella Daniels as aristocrat Nala, Junix Inocian as the Cook and Dimitri Leonidas as Doctor Anwar. Is it just us, or does Sinbad's crew sound a little like Captain Mal's Serenity gang on "Firefly"?

There has been a lot of talk about how great the summer of 1982 was for movies. And, boy, it really was. (Among the 1982 summer releases were "E.T.," "Blade Runner," "Tron," "The Road Warrior," "Rocky III" and "Poltergeist.") The summer of 1982 was so good, in fact, that for a movie writer covering these current August movies -- doldrums of August, even -- it's kind of depressing. (But, "ParaNorman" is great. I promise.)
The month of August has built itself quite an infamous reputation as one of the worst movie months of the year: The summer blockbusters have wrapped up and awards season has yet to start -- which leaves audiences with movies like "Total Recall." But 2012 is far from the worst movie August ever. So, in the spirit of 1982 being the best summer for movies, I present you with a case for the worst August in the history of movies: 1996.

I really hope this one turns out not to be true.
According to a tweet posted by Production Weekly, Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone are rumored to be starring in Grudge Match, a film about two over-the-hill boxers, Billy "The Kid" McGuigan and Henry "Razor" Sharp (good lord, one can only hope the screenplay is half as creative as those names), who decide to take each other on one last time in a grudge match 50 years after their last title fight.
The script is by Tim Kelleher, whose only previous film is Sinbad's First Kid in 1996. Some websites are describing Grudge Match as the Space Cowboys of boxing movies. If either one of those two sentences gets you excited for this project, then remind me not to go to you for movie recommendations.

Back in May, it was reported Warner Bros acquired a pitch by Tim Kelleher (First Kid, "In Living Color") for a boxing movie called "Grudge Match." Now comes word from Production Weekly that Sylvester Stallone and Robert De Niro are in talks to star as the film's two leads. Similar in tone to "Space Cowboys," the new movie revolves around retired boxers Billy "The Kid" McGuigan and Henry "Razor" Sharp, lifelong bitter rivals who are coaxed out of retirement and into the ring for one final grudge match -- 50 years after their last title fight. Kelleher was hired to write the script, which he probably already finished. "Grudge Match" is being produced by Bill Gerber (Gran Torino, Get Carter) and "Ghost Rider" director Mark Steven Johnson, who may end up helming the picture. If cast, Stallone and De Niro will re-team after starring together in James Mangold's 1997 "Copland." Both...

Warner Bros. Pictures has picked up Tim Kelleher's "Grudge Match." Kelleher is writing the screenplay which has a similar tone to "Space Cowboys." The story tells of retired boxers Billy "The Kid" McGuigan and Henry "Razor" Sharp, lifelong rivals who, some fifty years after hanging up their gloves, are coaxed back into the ring for one final grudge match. Sounds like Rocky 5000. Billy Gerber and Mark Steven Johnson are producing. Kelleher makes his sophomore efforts in feature-length writing after penning the 1996 film "First Kid" starring Sinbad. He is a veteran TV writer with credits including "In Living Color" and "The Arsenio Hall Show." He also created the comedy "Rock Me Baby" for Upn.

Combine this with the box office success of The Bucket List and you've got a bit of the likely motivation behind Grudge Match, a boxing film in the works from Warner Bros. The Hollywood Reporter sees the project, about retired prizefighters called out for one final match, as being comparable to Space Cowboys, which did a similar thing with retired astronauts. The script was written by Tim Kelleher, an In Living Color vet whose only film writing credit is First Kid, which starred Sinbad as a boxer-turned-Secret Service agent. The film's producers include some guys familiar with working with old dudes: Gran Torino's Bill Gerber and Grumpy Old Men writer Mark Steven Johnson.

Briefly: It isn't often that you hear that a film seeks to emulate the tone of the 2000 Clint Eastwood film Space Cowboys. A studio making a movie featuring characters who are over 25? Insanity! And yet here's Grudge Match, a writer's pitch that Warner Bros. bought and will develop as a feature. Tim Kelleher sold the idea to WB, says THR, and will write the script. His pitch "revolves around retired boxers Billy "The Kid" McGuigan and Henry "Razor" Sharp, lifelong bitter rivals who are coaxed out of retirement and into the ring for one final grudge match -- 50 years after their last title fight." Kelleher has written for In Living Color and The Arsenio Hall Show, but only has one feature under his belt: Sinbad's First Kid. Not exactly a classic, but because I love seeing a studio make a film about older characters that isn't (a) a ...

Jenna Bush and her husband, Henry Hager. From PatrickMcMullan.com. While the Eurochic continue to indulge in Ibiza (“Lots of my friends are there, but I have too many movie auditions,” laments one British “It” kid stuck in London), a group of American royalty turned out in New York City to celebrate the launch of Unicef Next Generation. Former First Kid Jenna Bush hosted the party and was joined by her husband, Henry Hager, cousin Lauren Bush (wearing a number from her Lauren Pierce collection), and Lauren’s boyfriend, David Lauren. (No word on whether Jenna tried to swing by Freeman’s restaurant now that it’s been more than four years.) Other notables included newspaper heiress Maggie Betts (a good friend of the Bush twins), Alexandra Reeve Givens, and Lydia Hearst. Over at Hugo Boss’s Boss Orange New Direction party, the star of Hearst’s new American Psycho–inspired music video,...

Warner Bros. has picked up the spec script for a new comedy, Control-Alt-Delete. Tim Kelleher – whose last writing credit was the 1996 comedy, First Kid – and Danny Zuker wrote the script, about which little is known. We do know, though, that it’s high-concept, and that it’s been described as Bill And Ted’s Excellent Adventure meets The Matrix. Our guess, going on that premise and the title, is that it revolves around a pair of slackers who somehow become trapped in a computer game. Kelleher/Zuker, if you’re reading this, drop us a line – are we warm? At the moment, no talent is attached to the project, but we wouldn’t be too surprised if the producers weren’t trying to lure Keanu Reeves on board. After all, Bill And Ted meets The Matrix would seem to have his name written all over it…The producers in question...
