Released two years before BLADE it contains many of the same scenes: a board meeting of vampires, a bloody rave, etc.
The film's trailer features scenes not included in the final cut of the film.
Several of the supporting characters were named after noted horror-film directors (Jacques Tourneur, Dario Argento, Edgar G. Ulmer, Roy Ward Baker, etc).
The film was inspired by the 1988 computer game "Nighthunter" by Ubisoft, where the player is also a vampire hunter, and it was apparently the favourite game of director Rick Jacobson's son. An alternative - and more believable - story is that Jacobson took inspiration from the 1990 adult film "Tight *unter", where a vampire is frequently disappointed after going down on women he sleeps with because they find his teeth uncomfortable.
David 'Shark' Fralick made T.N.T. with Olivier Gruner, Don Wilson made Showdown in Manila with Olivier Gruner.
