This film is about four extremely close friends and one of them being the head of a gang, or rather a Triad. most Asians will be familiar with the themes associated with Triads portrayed by the Hong Kong Shows--betrayal, brotherhood, righteousness, violence, Vendetta and the cold underworld. No doubt that some of these themes are actually minor in this whole show. Just like most other movies, romance is included.
This show is actually not very violent. The actual scenes involving guns are normally very short, lasting only a few seconds. The longest gun scene lasts only slightly more than 1 minute and blood is rarely to be seen.
The ending of the movie is quite sad, as the main character is just so close to escaping the cold grip of the underworld and the vendetta he incurred.
