Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein Avoids A Clash With Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree 2? ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Nothing is going right for Akshay Kumar, as the actor is struggling really badly at the box office. Except for Sooryavanshi, the actor failed to deliver any successful film in the post-pandemic era (as a main lead). Even this year, he had already delivered two major failures in the form of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Sarfira. Now, all eyes are set on the performance of Khel Khel Mein.
Khel Khel Mein is Akshay’s third release of the year, and fans are hoping that the film might turn the tables for the superstar. It is directed by Mudassar Aziz, whose Pati Patni Aur Woh was a successful affair at the box office. Other than Akshay, the film also stars Taapsee Pannu, Vaani Kapoor, Aparshakti Khurana, Fardeen Khan, and others in key roles.

The Pitch: A Star-Studded Cult Comedy That Doesn’t Fit in Any Bollywood Box

Just out of the success of his ‘Gadar 2’, Sunny Deol is grabbing headlines all round. The beeline at his office has started again after almost two decades to sign him up. After all, heroes like Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and Aamir Khan are all knocking on the sixties and have been ruling the roost in the Hindi film industry. Unfortunately, lately their careers have remained fickle. Consistency is lacking in the box-office outcome of their films.
Just when the filmmakers contemplate giving up on them, they turn up one successful film which gives them another couple of years of career extension. Of course, this success enjoys the added advantage of inflated box-office figures. Let alone the public, but even other filmmakers get taken in by these!

Netflix has had a very big couple of months, with the streaming site bringing us tons of original shows, movies and, of course, a lot of beloved films and TV series from across various decades and genres. Without a doubt though, the biggest hit for them recently has been Extraction (you can catch a taste of what it has to offer via the clip above), but even if you’ve already watched it several times (like we have), there’s still tons to dig into.
Case in point: Today has seen yet another content drop that’s brought with it 3 new movies and 2 new TV shows. Admittedly, it’s not the most exciting offering we’ve had in recent weeks, but hey, the very fact that Netflix is adding new titles on a daily basis is something that should be applauded.
So, without further ado, here’s what arrived earlier...

While we get to watch new films all the time, the lockdown could be a golden chance to catch up with a few classics across genres. Digital platforms are overflowing with them, and you would literally be spoilt for choice selecting some really enjoyable stuff that has come out of Bollywood over the decades. Twenty-one days, it would seem, is too short a time to catch up with what really defines vintage Bollywood and is available in the Ott libraries.
Ians picks a few old films that you might want to revisit, that will let you relax and bust the stress of lockdown. Of course, this is not a definitive list.
* Chupke Chupke (1975)
Directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee, the comedy film is about a man pretending to be a driver and fooling his wife's brother-in-law as an attempt to prove that the brother-in-law is not as smart as he claims to be.
