The film had a theatrical release in Canada.
The trumpet tune used at 1:00 of "Pagh Ghungroo Bandh" from Namak Halaal,was later the source of inspiration for the tune "Boogie Boogie" from Kismetwala (1986). What is confusing is that a similar tune was used by Michael Jackson for his song "Bad" in 1987,where as Namak Halaal released in 1982. The same tune was later used for the song "Mera Dil Kho Gaya" from Aazmayish. Himesh Reshamiya also used this same tune at 0:27 for the song "Ice Cream" from the film The Xpose. The song "Tere Baap Ko" from Do Aankhen Barah Haath, also sampled Michael Jackson's song "Bad". Another version was in the song "Dokha Dokha" from the movie Dana Pani. 0:40, from the song "Mera Dil Kho Gaya" from Aazmayish was also inspired from 1:48 from the song "Karle Pyar Karle" from Talaash (1969). I'm Bad by Michael Jackson was used in a dance contest in Kaun Kare Kurbanie. The same song was sampled for the song " I"m Mad" from Jodidaar (1997).
