Originally the title of the movie was slated to be "Rough Stuff", also the title of the theme song. It was later changed to "Mr. Nanny".
The movie's composer David Johansen is a member of The New York Dolls. He also plays the movie's main villain Tommy Thanatos. Johansen's pseudonym (and side project band) is Buster Poindexter. Under Buster Poindexter name he performed the movie's theme song "Rough Stuff" whose lyrics tell about the tribulations and future plans of the Hogan's character from the movie.
