There's a brief bar fight scene, but it's more slapstick then brutal.
While made after the PG-13 creation in 1984, this was one of the many PG movies that still had some pre-1984 type PG content. The violence is moderate. This is one of the pre-PG-as-a-family-rating (when it became a family rating for good in 1995) movies
Another bit of pre-1984 PG content. We see a domestic dispute, and it's not in a pleasant civilized way either: Bobo (the wrong one) has a fight with his wife and she destroys his silverware and plates. Pretty intense for a PG movie, and more fitting for a PG-13 movie.
Comical, but still inappropriate and one reason this isn't a family movie (being pre-1995 PG): Burt, figurtatively, threatens to sling Devon on his "a**" if he bothers him. Obviously it's not literal, but he's meant to be intimidating cause he (Nick) doesn't work well with kids.
Several characters are beaten up, assaulted, ect.
A man is shot in the shoulder twice, little blood is shown.
