after winning Filmfare best actor award for Baazigar 1993 Shahrukh Khan did not see director duo Abbas Mastan anywhere at the function nor at the awards party that night Shahrukh Khan reached Bhendi Bazaar a crowded place in Bombay where Abbas Mastan lived when Shahrukh Khan reached there he saw about 10 to 12 people sleeping in one room on seeing him everyone from the house got up Shahrukh Khan went to Abbas Mastan and touched their feet and said I have won the best actor award for Baazigar how can I go home without your blessings by the time Shahrukh Khan moved out it was early morning and month of Ramzan so he also had Sehri with them before he left.
'Akshay Kumar' was initially offered the role of Baazigar, but turned it down due to its negativity. 'Arbaaz Khan' turned it down for the same reason and then went on to do a full fledged negative role in Abbas-Mastan's Daraar (1996). Anil Kapoor and 'Salman Khan' rejected it for the same reason.
Kajol had lots of trouble with the "Mera Dil Tha Akela" part in the song, Baazigar O Baazigar, because she felt the emotions on the script were extremely exaggerated. Shah Rukh Khan then helped her by jokingly pinching her and she "learned" how to act the part properly.
The film established careers of Shahrukh Khan, Kajol and Shilpa Shetty.
