In one scene, the criminals and their two hostages are watching 48 Hrs (1982). Jonathan Banks, who plays Handsome Harry in this movie, also had a role in 48 Hrs.
The scene where Lyle Corrente (Chazz Palminteri) broke the 10-year old's (Paige Gabney) glasses required 18 retakes because Chazz Palminteri could not stop breaking character with hysterical laughter when the young actor would start crying. It went on so long that the production ran out of prop pairs of glasses and had to pay a production assistant to break her actual pair of glasses.
