She said in an interview, "The nudity never bothered me because the more you think about love scenes, the more they'll bother you and the more they'll make you nervous. You have to realize that it has nothing to do with you personally. Actually, it only has everything to do with your character. If you think my body is so spectacular, then good for you and that flatters me. I'm not embarrassed by my body. It has everything to do about Joanne and the way she feels about her body. It would be impossible to do Animal Instincts without doing nude scenes, and I thought that Joanne was an interesting enough character that it was important to do it that way."

An R-rated and a more explicit unrated version exists.
