Reportedly, most of Iman's footage was edited out of the movie, with her only appearing briefly, during a courtroom sequence.
According to Janet Maslin in The New York Times, "the production notes describe the film as 'semi-autobiographical' and quote Mr. Belson (Jerry Belson) as saying that 'everything that happened in the movie happened to me.'" Belson also said: "The only difference is that in the movie, it's funny."

For the scenes filmed at the Air and Space Museum in Exposition Park, members of a local nudist colony were recruited when background actors were unwilling to strip naked for the camera. The climactic scene was filmed in Lake Tahoe, NV.
