For Chandler Kinney, the “Pretty Little Liars” reboot cancellation is still fresh.
After two seasons on Max, the spinoff of the ABC Family hit was canceled by the streamer Sept. 20. The “Dancing With the Stars” breakout star told TheWrap that she and her castmates struggled to find their niche in the young adult genre on Max.
“This is really not even a hot take. Max doesn’t have as many YA shows or shows with a target demographic of young adults,” Kinney told TheWrap that shows like hers and “Sex Lives of College Girls” were in a lane of their own on the streamer. “We as a cast felt that we were always navigating that and trying to find our fit over the last couple years.”

Lionsgate is developing a film adaptation of one of Stephen King's earliest novels, The Long Walk. Several new cast members were just announced, one of which Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin and Summer School fans will recognize! Jordan Gonzalez, who plays Ash in the Max series, is one of seven new additions to the movie's cast.
Apart from Gonzalez, Deadline report that the movie will also star Philip Seymour Hoffman's son Cooper Hoffman (Licorice Pizza), David Jonsson (Industry), Garrett Wareing (Ransom Canyon), Tut Nyuot (The Witcher: Blood Origin), Charlie Plummer (Looking for Alaska), Ben Wang (Mean Girls), Joshua Odjick (The Swarm), and Roman Griffin Davis (Jojo Rabbit), though everyone's roles currently remain under wraps. Odjick is also set to star in another King project, the It prequel series Welcome to Derry for HBO.

Summer calls for surfing, sports, adventure and lazy afternoons in the pool or at the beach. Sometimes though when it won’t cool off outside and all avenues of fun have been exhausted, a summer movie will do the trick. Reflecting the season of no school and maximum outdoor activities, summer movies often incorporate scenes of surfing, beach volleyball or other moments near bodies of water like lakes or the beach.
Others highlight travel, another form of entertainment in the sunny season. While this list only contains 20 flicks, there are several more worth mentioning like Surf’s Up (2007), the Madagascar movies, Summer School (1987), Midsommar (2019), Smiles of a Summer Night (1955), Summer Holiday (1963), The Deep (1977) and more.

Back in 2022, it was announced that Shawnee Smith of the Saw franchise (not to mention two of my favorites, Summer School and The Blob ’88) had signed on to star in a horror movie called The Skulleton. That film has since been retitled Bloodline Killer – and today, June 28th, it has been released through the Tubi streaming service as a Tubi Original! A trailer for the film can be seen at This Link… and if you’re intrigued by what you see, you can head over to Tubi and watch the movie for free.
Smith is joined in the cast of Bloodline Killer by Tyrese Gibson (Morbius), Bruce Dern (The Hateful Eight), Taryn Manning (Orange Is the New Black), Damian Maffei (The Strangers: Prey at Night), Drew Moerlein (South of Hell), Alexander James Rodriguez (Bee and Puppycat), Jaime Zevallos (Cloak and Dagger), James Gaudioso (Mid-Century), and Anthony Gaudioso (What Josiah Saw...

It was a mother of a season of murder mayhem marked by beautiful bouquets of bloody roses that struck fear into the hearts of the PLLs throughout Pretty Little Liars: Summer School.
After such an incredible first episode, the season took some interesting liberties with the kill count. Still, in retrospect, it successfully kept audiences in the dark and on their toes as much as it did the pretty little liars.
The wait was certainly worth it with an ending that smacked almost entirely of Scream 2 but did it in a way that felt more real and with much higher stakes as it ended with five times the final girls and more motivation than viewers might've been able to follow.
If you were a little lost or didn't catch everything that happened in the jam-packed final episode of the series, we have you covered with the ending explained for Pretty Little Liars: Summer School.

Beware – Major spoilers for the finale of Pretty Little Liars: Summer School below.
Summer break is on the horizon for the cast and crew of Pretty Little Liars: Summer School as the shocking season finale has recently aired, revealing the mystery behind Spooky Spaghetti and Bloody Rose. The entire season was a wild ride, with each of the main characters narrowly escaping their own demise in death traps orchestrated by Bloody Rose, all leading to a dramatic final confrontation that positioned Tabby (Chandler Kinney) as this season’s final final girl.
Before the finale aired, I had the opportunity to catch up with Summer School showrunners Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Lindsay Calhoon Bring, as well as the entire main cast of liars, on all things related to the finale, hopes and dreams for a potential season 3, and what it means to be a final girl.

Note: This story contains spoilers from the “Pretty Little Liars: Summer School” finale.
“Pretty Little Liars” brought out the Final Girl Energy for Thursday’s “Summer School” finale, finally unmasking Bloody Rose while introducing plenty of options for a potential Season 3.
The eight-episode second season featured numerous kills and niche scary movie references, with stars Chandler Kinney, Bailee Madison, Malia Pyles, Maia Reficco and Zaria — as well as honorary sixth Fge member Mallory Bechtel — each getting their own Final Girl moment. But in the Max show’s season finale, all eyes were on resident movie buff Tabby (Kinney) as she ultimately proved her horror film knowledge could help her survive.
The hour contained enough twists and turns to fill the Spooky Spaghetti homepage, but TheWrap has narrowed the episode down to the most iconic can’t-miss moments.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the Pretty Little Liars: Summer School’s Season 2 finale, “Final Exam.”] Max’s Pretty Little Liars reboot just closed the book on Season 2, and Chapter 18 left us with a lesson in not messin’ with Chandler Kinney‘s Tabby. And how to do horror sequels right. After seven episodes of being stalked by Bloody Rose Waters—the gruesomely masked woman revealed to be the mother of Tabby and Imogen’s (Bailee Madison) murdered rapist, Chip Langsberry—the story took a major twist in the season finale as we learned that Tabby’s former movie-theater boss Wes (Derek Klena) was also in on the bloodbath: He was filming it all for his “untitled Millwood Massacre” feature and had riled up Spooky Spaghetti users online to lead “a reckoning” with the Liars. Max This all led to a showdown between Tabby, Wes, and Bloody Rose’s acolytes that was straight-up horror-movie ...

While Max hasn’t yet given the green light for Pretty Little Liars Season 3, the end of Summer School surely gives you the feeling that the showrunners are already preparing for a flashy next season with the return of a special someone. Or at least we’re meant to think so. While the show is a horror, it also encapsulates the essence of high school drama and draws the perfect balance between the two genres, making for a great watch. Season 1 of the series was mainly focused on the “sins of the mothers” and allowed viewers to get to know the girls and how they become as tight-knit as they do by the end of Summer School. In Original Sin, we meet Imogen, Tabby, Faran, Noa, and Mouse, five girls who go to Millwood High and suddenly find themselves set up as the targets for a series of terrifying events.

The final episode of the thrilling teen slasher arrived on June 20, 2024. Pretty Little Liars series, which got bigger and badder after a successful first round, has quite a shocking ending. However, just as with Original Sin, I find the villains aren’t quite as effective as they’re meant to be. Even so, I don’t think it really matters; it’s one of those shows where the journey’s more enthralling than the destination. The big reveal in this episode was definitely more predictable than in the previous season, but the resulting violence was quite unexpected. At first, I didn’t quite like the way certain themes were explored in the show, but as it went on, I found myself appreciating the girls and their bond, which really pushed me to like the show, almost as if I was placing myself and my friends in their shoes. I suppose...

Don't call it a slow burn, but compared to the rest of the season, Pretty Little Liars: Summer School Season 1 Episode 8 made good on it's promise of a bloody killer season.
Up until now, the season had been inconsistent with its killings, with no rhyme or reason behind the chosen victims, and many of the episodes featured no blood other than that of the red on Bloody Rose's gauzed face.
That all ended abruptly in this finale of twisty turns and revelations that frankly lean pretty closely to the same plot as Scream 2 in some rather blatant ways that we will call "heavily inspired."
As many viewers may have suspected, Kelly was thankfully not dead in the water as was suspected at the end of the previous episode.

The penultimate episode of Pretty Little Liars: Summer School drives viewers nuts with its many revelations. The show, which has been constantly dialing up the horror, is quite the perfect teen-slasher that feels like it’s directly aimed at Gen Z cuspians. The show, which follows the lives of five girls who live in the town of Millwood, drives us nuts with its cliffhangers and easter eggs littered throughout the series. It is a mystery that keeps giving, but I still find myself skeptical about who the serial killer from this season really is. See, we’ve had great opportunities to peg the killings on certain characters on the show; however, if we go by the pattern of the series and its elder sister, it’s possible we’ll get a completely new character who is chasing after the final girls of Millwood. With that said, episode 7 still has a...

It's Friday the 13th for the liars in their pretty little universe, and things are already looking unlucky for the girls in Pretty Little Liars: Summer School Season 1 Episode 5.
Summer is officially underway, and the girls are now up against many threats, with Bloody Rose picking her way through the group with her tests.
It's safe to say that Pretty Little Liars: Summer School sets very different stakes for the girls after the previous season's events, and things may be more complicated than they seem.
Right off the bat, this Spooky Spaghetti trend seems to be getting out of hand, with forum visitors partaking in some truly messed-up viral challenges.
If you're reading this review, you likely already know what that challenge was, but it bears repeating. Slicing into the middle of the forehead. That has to be illegal in multiple ways.

Pretty Little Liars: Summer School is now in session, but there’s one teacher you shouldn’t expect to see roaming the halls — Ezra Fitz.
The Max reboot’s first season ended with Imogen (Bailee Madison) revealing that her baby was being adopted by a lovely couple from nearby Rosewood, specifically Aria (Lucy Hale) and Ezra (Ian Harding) from the original Pretty Little Liars. It was an exciting Easter egg for longtime fans of the franchise, one that promised a permanent connection between the two shows.

No matter how much time has passed, the specter of A still hangs over the heads of a certain set of pretty little liars. In the next evolution of the decades-long saga, “Pretty Little Liars: Summer School” is a continuation of “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin” and follows the crew to Millwood High for summer school where they have to deal with new summer flings, romantic rivalries, and a new potential murderer on the loose. The new season debuts on Thursday, May 9 on Max with two episodes and you don’t want to miss any of the drama. When I previously wrote my review of Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, I mentioned that I was optimistic for the series to be renewed for another season, but questioned how the showrunners would be able to introduce a fresh batch of conflicts for our Millwood liars to tackle. After all, “A” had been apprehended! The main characters seemed to have found closure, and the future seemed bright and unobstructed for each of them.
And then came the summer. Summer School, that is.
As expected in any iteration of Pretty Little Liars, a new A has emerged to torment our five final girls who are stuck in Millwood attending summer school; this time in the form of Bloody Rose–a crimson soaked, knife brandishing antagonist that I would argue is much scarier than our season 1 stalker, Archie Waters. As things heat up with Bloody Rose, the summer brings a slew of...

The Story: A goofball gym teacher (Mark Harmon) is forced to teach a remedial English class over the summer.
The Players: Starring: Mark Harmon, Kirstie Alley, Dean Cameron, Courtney Thorne-Smith & Shawnee Smith. Music by Danny Elfman. Directed by Carl Reiner.
The History: Hollywood spent a couple of years trying to make Mark Harmon happen as a movie star. Fresh off an arc on “St. Elsewhere” which infamously had his character contract AIDS from a one-night stand, his career was red hot. For a while, he was seriously considered to replace Don Johnson on “Miami Vice” after contract negotiations fell through, and in 1987-88, we got a bunch of starring vehicles that would try him out in a variety of genres to see if one would stick. The slashing that began with “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin” will continue in Max’s upcoming “Pretty Little Liars: Summer School,” and Cosmopolitan unveiled first look images at the upcoming second season that promises to go bigger and badder on the slasher sequel mayhem.
“Pretty Little Liars: Summer School” is set to return later this Spring on Max, with first look images below.
Co-Creators Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (“Riverdale,” “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”) and Lindsay Calhoon Bring (“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”) co-executive produced and wrote the new series.

Mark Harmon has been married to Pam Dawber for decades, now. And although the two boast one of the happiest marriages in Hollywood, at one point Dawber couldn’t imagine herself a married woman.

Dawber and Harmon both married in 1987 and never looked back. It all started with Harmon famously making his move on his wife through a mutual friend. According to an interview with People, the friend wanted to set Harmon up on a group date. But Harmon preferred to speak to Dawber personally.
“I said, ‘Can I just call? Can I get a number and just cold call?’ And so I did. I got the number, and I called, and I got an answering machine. And I started to leave a message that said, ‘We don’t have to all go out. We could...

By the end of its fifth season, "Cheers" had become one of the most popular sitcoms on television. Every Thursday night, viewers tuned in to hang with the regulars at the Boston pub where everybody knows your name, and the gang always delivered. You could put the "Cheers" gang up against the very best in the history of the medium.
Most amazingly, the series didn't miss a beat when Woody Harrelson stepped in for Nick Colasanto after the latter's unexpected death. It just became a different kind of excellent.
And yet, as the show headed into its sixth season, no one was sure if "Cheers" could survive the departure of Shelley Long. The actor's combustible, Tracy-Hepburn chemistry with Ted Danson gave every episode the charge of the unexpected, and kept everyone in their orbit perpetually unsettled. Without her, the entire dynamic of the show might change, turning fans off a...

Nicholas Meyer's 1982 film "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan" is all about growing older. Admiral Kirk (William Shatner) is rounding middle age and has to start wearing glasses. He also has to face the fact that he fathered a child many years ago, while also facing a foe he abandoned on a distant planet and forgot about. Kirk's youthful days of recklessness are catching up to him.
Meanwhile, Spock (Leonard Nimoy) is on the cusp of retirement and has found a protégé he intends to train as his replacement. This is the young lieutenant Saavik (Kirstie Alley), a half-Vulcan, half-Romulan officer who is as baffled by humanity as Spock was in his early Enterprise days. Saavik is also confident and even a little arrogant, qualities she will start to outgrow by the film's conclusion.

Mark Harmon starred in a few notable projects beyond NCIS. Years before he was cast as Jethro Gibbs in the police procedural, Harmon starred in the cult classic comedy Summer School. But he initially wasn’t interested in doing the project, and urged for another star in mind to take his place.

Mark Harmon is famous for his role as Leroy Jethro Gibbs in NCIS — but that’s far from the only role he played. In the ’70s and ’80s, Harmon started to act in TV shows and movies. He went on to play Freddy Shoop in the 1987 film Summer School. While Harmon might reflect fondly on the role of Freddy Shoop now, he recalled how his wife didn’t want him to take the part.

Mark Harmon made the right choice to take the role of Leroy Jethro Gibbs in NCIS in 2003. The part launched Harmon to superstardom. Now, he’s a household name for CBS viewers. But NCIS isn’t the only production Harmon participated in. Over a decade before he accepted the role of Gibbs, Harmon played Freddy Shoop in Summer School.
